Changing the rules so more 5-7 teams can compete in bowl games with unclaimed bids: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/48713433/proposal-seeks-flexibility-5-7-teams-fill-bowl-games Easy button: in lieu of changing the rules, maybe ditch some of the lower-tier bowl games…since no one w...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Win one game and lock up a top 6 seed and first round bye. Win two games and lock up a top 4 seed which put you in the home half for game one.

It bugs the crap out of me, how many strikes we take. You need to be aggressive at the plate. I guess the saving grace today is Troy beating SOAL…. we may not lose ground in conference.
That's funny because I think we're overly aggressive many times. I guess it's all about perspective.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

I am in agreement that the staff has likely earned an extension. My three questions are: 1. Is the overall record more of a reflection of the talent or the schedule? 2. What are the goals/steps to make postseason play in the future? 3. What would an adequate extension look like? My two cents... 1) ...

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

The staff should have more than earned an extension at this point. We're currently in 3rd place in the 5th toughest conference in the nation. One more win should lock up a top 6 finish and first round bye. Two wins will likely give us a top 4 finish. Now consider we have a low budget, one of the wo...

Just ran into Kerns at baseball. Said he signed this morning. 7-2 and 250 lbs. Not a pure project player but still developing and was the third big at UConn.

Said there's at least one more, maybe two.
We just need him to protect the rim and rebound.

Re: G6 Playoff

I kind of compare my view of App football in the same way as Panthers football. My expectations for both are to win the NC and the Super Bowl. My realistic view is that either final game is generally unlikely. If that doesn’t happen I want both/either team to make a playoff. If that doesn’t occur t...

Apparently Luke showed up at the School of Music graduation ceremony and got an honorary degree.
I still say they should have given him one during his concert in KBS.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Playing GW isn't a big deal, but we have to take care of business. The real problem are the other three non-conference series all coming against teams with a current RPI of 259 or worse. Playing one is okay, but three gives us no margin for error. Replace one with a P4 and another with just an avera...

Re: G6 Playoff

So the proposal is for a G6 playoff... that doesn't even include the best G6 team. So no one could credibly call the winner the G6 national champion, if there were such a thing. Real worst-of-both-worlds solution. That'll just be the first step toward the eventual outcome of no G6 being in the CFP.

Re: G6 Playoff

Division I-AA sequel. And this time there aren't any set requirements separating the two levels. It's all about being invited to the club and how much cash you have. We need to put legit standards in place to limit who can be part of our level if we want to keep any sort of relevance going forward....

If the AC commish is talking like this, it's coming.

Bowls are toast.
A much different tone compared to the previous commissioner.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Winning a road series against a top half team is extremely difficult to do. Win the next two series and we'll be no worse than the 4th seed and likely 3rd. Who would have thought that was possible a month ago?
