Re: Jason Isbell playing Kidd brewer

Now if you really want to do the time machine, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel played at Varsity Gym in the mid/late 70s. Joel made fun of the gym and asked if it was the Boone Bus Terminal. It was a small but very enthusiastic crowd for Springsteen. Both put on a great show. Joel was probably ask...

Throwing the ball downfield more also loosens up the running lanes by forcing the defenders to back up off the line.
His statement gives me hope that when opposing teams load the box, we will make them pay...which then loosens things up for a more successful run game.

“A big point of emphasis this year is to really open up our offense and throw the ball more downfield-to not let teams dictate to us what we’re going to do, but we dictate to them...”
Great news...good move by Coach Clark to utilize the strength of his personnel

Re: Spring Practice

Earlier in this thread it was stated that Petersen struggled because he was not familiar with our playbook/verbiage.
Really? A career offensive coordinator who can’t get up to speed with our playbook? Or who can’t adjust to changes in offensive verbiage?
Good luck, Illinois.

Re: BACK IN BLACK

If I understand the OP's question, why did Va Tech choose Enter Sandman as their entrance song? It started when they installed their new scoreboard they were choosing a new song from 3 or 4 choices, one was Guns and Roses I think, but they chose Sandman, because they just thought it is an awesome e...

Re: Spring Practice

I get my insight directly from the horses mouth -- not a newspaper. Same. So you are aware of the players meeting that more or less told Clark things need to change with play calling? And from that point forward, Petersen wasn't the primary play caller? I was aware of a meeting with the team. They ...

Hate to see those 3’s go up so early in the shot clock...our shot selection was not good tonight, and we have to hit free throws.

When Scott Riddle (Elon qb) realized that the dirty hits delivered by the Elon defense wouldn’t sideline AE, SR paid his father to finish the job.

Foxball has made a return to Boone.
Nah. This team actually passes the ball more than once per possession.
Agree—a typical Fox team would have given up in the 2nd half. And these guys play defense on a consistent basis.

Trey Cobb needs to stop jawing after every tackle. Didn’t App used to be known as a disciplined program who let the other team talk while we beat their arse on the field.
Discipline/penalties have been a problem all year. I hope the “players’ coach” thing works out.

Glad someone brought this topic up. We used to be a fun brand of football and the tip of the spear. The spread was exciting setting up a ton of potential weapons. I’m not sure what you even call this, but we may as well just line up in the i and call it 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Takes me back to...
