Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
Some of yall are such dicks. Just let them go where they want. Stop being so butthurt ,and more, over it all. This stuff happens all over the job force in our economy. Just because it's now happening in the precious college sports is no reason to spew so much hate toward them. You get to change job...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
We are talking about amateur athletes getting paid $25-$100k (on top of a $25k scholarship and $6k stipend annually) to play in front of maybe 5k people and on ESPN+ with less than 30k viewers. I recommend reading that sentence out loud to realize how crazy and unsustainable this is for anyone outs...

Re: September 7, 2024
In my opinion Clemson has fallen back to earth. I'll put them in the Wake, State and UNC category. You all know what that could mean on any particular Saturday! they aren't world beaters but Clemson baseline is higher than those teams. Are they beatable? I think so. But so was 2022-2023 UNC It’s a ...

Re: 2024 Roster Updates
In my humble opinion, we have major problems on the D-line now.
I was hoping we would add additional D-line talent, instead we’re losing it.
I sure hope we have a plan, especially to get bigger in the middle.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
I feel as though I'm losing a part of my life that brings me joy. Appalachian athletics has provided an outlet from the outside noise for over two decades personally. Isn't getting difficult to stay invested at the current rate. This is basically how I feel. It’s hard to imagine fans staying emotio...

Further evidence of the destruction of college sports.
I can only speak for myself, but I’m not sure about how much longer it will
be worth watching.
Glad I was able to enjoy it for years before all of this stuff started

Re: NIT
Just out of curiosity I wonder how many people here who are staunchly opposed to a G5 football championship are on board with us playing in the NIT? I don't think that's an apples to apples comparison. The NIT has existed alongside the NCAA tournament for a long time. I think, if one is to make a f...

Re: TIGMA NIL
With fans now being ask to pour even more money into NIL, plus season tickets, plus Yosef, etc., coaches will be under even more pressure to win with fans now essentially paying for players. Fans will feel emboldened to demand firings, demand players be benched, etc. And in my opinion, they will hav...

Being a fan provides both joy and misery.
Tonight is misery.
I congratulate Kerns and the team on a magnificent season. Hopefully we get another game.

Very strange game for us, looking a bit flat to say the least.
Hopefully they can find some juice in the 2nd half.
These tournaments really test you, especially the top seeds with all the pressure.
Everything is on the line, let’s see how they react.

Re: NIL college tourney. Winners split 1 mil.
We’re all watching money destroy college sports, and it’s happening quickly.
I know some will call me dramatic and disagree, but that’s my opinion.
I can only hope that fans eventually reject all of this craziness at some point.

Georgia Southern concerns me, they have two really good players and we haven’t exactly looked great against them in the previous games. App just has to bear down and refuse to allow a defeat in the tournament. It’s hard to beat a team 3 times but that’s what it will take. If we are truly the best te...

"The SEC and Big 10 are going to ruin college football..." https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/39620092 College football is well on its way to destruction. We can only hope that the fans ultimately reject college football becoming a semi pro league. At this rate, before long players won’t even hav...

Re: NCAA loses ability to control NIL in court
NCAA head says it's doom and gloom for sports if student athletes are paid. https://fortune.com/2024/02/24/ncaa-college-sports-employees-student-athletes-charlie-baker-interview/amp/ I tend to agree. NIL is ruining college sports as we have always known it. Athletes have always been compensated wit...

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
Didn’t matter for liberty, just that 0 in the loss column. And the money for going to the playoffs would make up for any payday game, plus the exposure. I’m not saying go all scrubs, just saying that it’s something to think about. I would still rather play a tough schedule with a Power 4 opponent, ...

That’s pretty cool. I still think we’ll need to go unbeaten to have a chance, but also depends on what other G5 teams have accomplished as well.Apple@chin1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 8:54 amhttps://collegefootballnetwork.com/coll ... rojection/

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
If you don't get it at this point then you just aren't going to get it. They will do whatever it takes to keep the mo ey at the top. When and if they can they will keep any and all G5 out and yes, I'd wager many years that will be the case. The 5+7 model will still guarantee 1 G5 spot every year. B...
