We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Coaching Question
better to embrace our program being a stepping stone job (it is unless they magically allow promotion/relegation into super conferences) than worrying about a coach leaving before he's even hired. If people want him then we're doing well.

Re: I feel..... ?
His first real game as a head coach was against Marshall on CBS. It didn't look like the same App team there and just about every game since then. It was obvious very early he's just not a good coach. Wish the best for the guy but if we don't have $500k to fire him then why did he get an extension i...

Re: NIL Convo
One thing about moving to P4 that I think gets overestimated. So hypothetically we get in the ACC. We now get a piece of the pie on their TV contracts. Our football games already sell out. Our basketball would get a spike in ticket sales. But that alone will not magically make us top tier. Sure som...

Re: NIL Convo
I'm going to post this one more time, then I'm not interacting with another NIL discussion. NIL hasn't changed anything in college athletics, it's just brought it into the open. The big boys have always had more money, toys, facilities, etc. They've always been able to give players what they wanted...

Re: The cancer on this program is
A student has no "duty" lol...they aren't a solider. Yes athletic success has increased the University's notoriety but it's not the responsibility of the student to fund something that is arguably superfluous. If you're watching the games and on this blog you're invested personally in the success o...

Re: The cancer on this program is
There is a lot of that in this country. You want someone else to pay for your entertainment. Well MY opinion is that those who want that entertainmentn should pay. Why should someone who has no interest in sports or football in particular be bound to pay for our entertainment. Because it’s your dut...

Re: The cancer on this program is
It is not the responsibility of the STUDENTS to pay for athletics in this way. Rather ticket sales (which should be increased with an NIL ear mark like Tennessee did), sponsorship, donations and internal revenue (TV, concessions, apparel, licensing agreements). I believe we should do the following ...

Re: The cancer on this program is
Again, the STUDENT should pay more than they’re currently paying but ALUMNI should as well. If you’re going to go to the school then sorry, a few thousand should go towards athletics a year. Our alumni don’t give money and I don’t see that changing so students, it’s on you while your at school. May...

That’s not the “goal” you think it is.appdaze wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 4:48 pmHere's 32 soccer teams that went bankrupt trying to make it and compete in the top leagues. Colleges would get wrecked.

Re: The answer to the g5 dilemma!!!!!!!!!!
No it wouldn't. It's the only thing that would actually become fair. If Bama gets relegated, they're not keeping their recruits and would open the door for much smaller programs to succeed and mainly BUILD a program from the bottom. Smaller schools getting the massive tv deals would be huge for a p...

Re: The cancer on this program is
JMU has more money on b/c they take larger athletic fees from their students. This is not allowed at the FBS level and JMU is in the process of reducing the amount they charge students. Its a phased reduction. I don't remember the figures but when you adjust their budget to not include the elevated...

JMU and TxSt are not bigger NIL hitters than us. jmu absolutly is. I have no idea about TxSt but jmu is. JMU has more money on b/c they take larger athletic fees from their students. Re: The answer to the g5 dilemma!!!!!!!!!!
If relegation began in college sports, corruption would go through the roof, any program involved would have to break away from the school as no taxpayer institution would be able to/want to, or be allowed to be a part of something that could devastated their revenue if they got relegated. Relegati...

Re: The cancer on this program is
Nice level headed post. It’s just not worked out. The people that think that Marshall or south Alabama have some nil slush fund are completely wrong. I agree with you both. Marshall is same boat as us, they aren't good either. I was thinking more JMU, Boise or even a TxSt coming from nowhere on the...

Re: The cancer on this program is
don't think it's Doug but if he doesn't nail the next hire then he's got to go. I do wish he would have found a way for the school and the program to pony up enough money a year for us to be in the AAC though.
