More important to me than Coach Dowells play calling or record in the NFL is who he get to call plays for at the QB position next year. That should be priority 1 for Coach Dowell. Finding his guy and helping him flourish.

Lets put Dowells' NFL time into some perspective by digging a bit deeper into perhaps why he struggled at the NFL level. I think anyone would agree the QB, particularly in the NFL, is what makes an offense really go. Very few folks in the history of the NFL have ever looked good with subpar QB play....

He has been an O coordinator at the highest level of the sport. Highly unsure of his recruiting prowess, not my first choice, but one of the best resumes.

In reference to Neal Brown, he had a 51% win percentage at his first P5 stop while trying to learn and navigate NIL. I would take DJ Smith and be super happy. He is also the recruiting coordinator at Mizzu now. Recruiting is paramount in today’s transfer portal world. That was never one of Clark’s strong suits unfortunately.

Tremaine Jackson
Tre Lamb
Mike Jacobs

All three are under 45 years of age with a good track record thus far in their somewhat brief HC experiences. Also, wont break the bank like a former P5 guy.
