We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: My record will be gone
Delaware had twice our revenue. Our revenue was only 56% of JMU and even less of what ODU had. Even Maine generated more revenue than ASU. In fact, most if not all CAA schools topped ASU.
By FCS standards we do fairly well but we are far from the top of the list. There is this misnomer that ASU athletics is flush with money.

Honestly this is one of the dumbest messageboard threads i've read in a long time. First we had someone who needed to announce to the world he wasen't going to GSU. I'm not going either, but I didn't need to tell everyone. Then we started having people bash him for not being a true fan. Who are you guys to tell someone weather they are a true fan. Then it turned into a who donated more, argument and now we are back to what most App arguments end up being, a FCS vs FBS debate. Glad to know we could all encompass all the crap in one thread.

Blah blah blah
Can someone start a damn Georgia Southern thread? As far as I know I don't have to ability to on the new site. We have our biggest rivalry game in 3 days and the most active thread on the MMB is about realignment and FCS football revenue. Are you kidding me?
I feel like, as a group, our fanbase is ignoring the fact that we have our biggest game of the season on Saturday. How bout some hype? How bout some fanship? It is a sad state if affairs, I tell ya what. I get worried about our team staring at a 7-4/6-5 record, but I am MUCH more disturbed by the attitude of our fanbase this year.
You people are supposed to be the diehards.

If you go to the Appalachian Football folder, right underneath the folder title is a black button that says NEWTOPIC. Click on that to start a thread.

Programs like Northern Iowa, Illinois State, Stephen F. Austin and North Dakota State are all right in our ballpark as well.

We should not be satisfied to stay where we are but there are many FCS programs with similar or greater resources than us, many of which are nowhere near as successful.

Re: My record will be gone
Concerning CAA revenue....go have a look at how much of their revenue is subsidized by student fees. James Madison may have generated 32 million or so in 2011, but 25 million came through student fees. 83% is drawn from student fees, so let's not pretend that they are raking in the money through donations and ticket sales.
Also, have a look at their expenses. Many of these programs are operating in the red.

But we really should be discussing Georgia Southern....

We also had some political comments thrown about. For the record, lexington style BBQ is the best, and we really need to go with Coke instead of Pepsi at the games. Also, I'm tired of the No Equal slogan..definitely played out...and I think we need a new stadium cup design. The track should be relocated so that the track team has a first rate facility of their own and the field can be lowered. Actually, the entire stadium should be rebuilt using concrete because aluminum is bush league. The band should be in the end zone. They should be bigger and keep up the flashy shows, but they should NOT use electric instruments. The PA music should coordinate better with the band...and Old School Yosef rules!Appersrule wrote:Honestly this is one of the dumbest messageboard threads i've read in a long time. 1. Many of the people associated with the track program like having the track within the stadium complex.Yosef84 wrote:We also had some political comments thrown about. 2. Pepsi typically gives athetic entities a much better deal than coke. Hundreds of scoreboards across NC are donated by Pepsico in return for the business.
3. LexCue may be considered the best but a Woodlands Cue at the game rivals it.
4. Spot on about the PA music.
5. The third down graphic (bell) should instead be an actually hand operated bell.

It no so much Coach didn't fire Chris, but that he didn't want to fire Chris. Big difference. To answer the other part of your question the o-line coach was let go along with Elder and Holt. If you don't believe that was the case with those last two give them a call and get the real story.JCline0429 wrote:Name the half of the staff fired by CC besides Moore, Jr. FTR, I wouldn't have fired Jr myself, I would have deferred to Charlie. The question you need to ask is is how did we get to the point where half the staff had to be fired by the AD and why hasn't the discipline issue been handled as Coach Moore said he was going to do dozens of times before. The Wofford Haloween game, the Richmond playoff game in Boone, the Chattanooga game last year and the Samford game this year is just a few examples. It is my experience the difference between "making critical observations and just plain whining" is in the eye of the beholder.Yosef84 wrote:The fact that people think you can simply throw money / resources at a program and then have a right to expect them to "contend for a national championship" is completely screwed up. If this is how it actually worked there are a lot of schools out there who are falling short. Michigan, Georgia, Ohio State, South Carolina, Clemson, UNC, NC State, Miami, Florida State (the list goes on for a very long time) would all have a right to contend for the national championship EVERY year. Most of those schools have been absent from the title hunt for a while (or at least longer than App has been). Yes, the having the resources is a component, but NO TEAM contends every year....at any level.
Yes, App fans have a right to expect a high standard from our coaches. I believe we get that. Some of the staff wasn't meeting that standard, and changes have been made. Coach Moore doesn't have a magic wand. Making adjustments in areas like "discipline" and "chemistry" is not like flipping a switch. Chemistry builds over time. The new coaches are moving in the right direction....or so it seems to this fan.
I'm disappointed in the Citadel and Wofford games this year...just like everyone else. Those games are behind us, but we still have a shot at the playoffs. I'll close the book on this team when the season is over and then I'll start focusing on the great expectations for the 2013 team.
There is a difference between making critical observations and just plain whining. Maybe folks should consider which one they are doing.

I did not miss the point, just thought it ironic someone calling me out was doing (posting under a screen name) the same thing. I know, I know. You say I bashed someone and you don not do that. I get it. Glad you have been around a while, but you know we have a tone of bandwagon fans. If a troll is a 20 year Yosef Club member then I accept the label.ASUMountaineer wrote:Kgfish wrote:Guess you do not "hide behind" ASU Mountaineer, or is that your given name? The truth is that most positive people have zero time for negative nancys"
With the expectations of this program 7-4 might as well be 2-9. Simply making the playoffs isn't good enough for a fan base demanding to contend for the national championship every year. They have provided the resources necessary to compete for the championship on a regular basis and it is foolish to think they will be satisfied with anything less. Welcome to life at the top.
As a matter of clarity and to satisfy my own curosity, I did a little research on Mr Norton. Do you know that he and and his wife only gives the paltry sum of $5000 annually to Yosef! With such feable support of the program how dare he expect more from it! Upon further examination I discovered the Norton's gave at the $10,000 level the previous three years. Ah ha! The the smoking gun! Obviously cutting his donation in half is proof positive of Mr Norton's vendetta against Coach Moore as claimed by Mr JCline.
Some of you guys are nuts!
I think everyone on this board would agree that the past few years have been lackluster by ASU's standards. But, most reasonable people would also agree that sometimes teams have down years. I just think, given history of work, that it's ridiculous to criticize coach the way people do on this board. Accurate criticism is valid, but a lot of people make it sound like we're Memphis or WCU. We're not, we've never been like that under JM, and won't be. Believe it or not, the sky is not falling, the sun will come up tomorrow, and life will go on. You may be disappointed to learn that JM is still employed, but that's just sad for you.I never said that I do not hide behind my screen name. You clearly missed the point that you are hiding behind your screen name while publicly questioning someone's character anonymously (I am not). That's actually quite a simple concept to understand that any ASU grad should be able to grasp.
BTW, I'm an ASU grad and have been a Yosef Club member for years too (I just don't feel the need to brag about my donations throughout the years on the MMB). So, unfortunately, your weak "bandwagon" smack doesn't apply. Nice try though...
As I said, keep trollin'.
