"It was #27, Gibbs, who Gilchrist tore his helmet off to let him have it and to collect an unsportsmanlike penalty.

If I'm not mistaken we've won 2 playoff games since the AE days which is 7 years. We've not made it out of the 2nd round since.

I don't know the answer. I agree we needed to get out of the Small Con but these Sun Belt teams just do nothing for me. I hope we build rivalries with some of them and it proves me wrong.

I miss the playoff system we had.

The subject of college bowls came up and it was the call-in consensus that all the bowls will now become "minor" bowls--their words, not mine--except for the bowls involved in the BCS rotation in any particular year.

That has been my question from the git go. Is there any difference in playing in any of the vast number of now "minor" bowls--eventually, sometime--than winning three "minor" national football championships and competing for other ones each year?

Other than the potential of going to "Somebody's (minor) Bowl" game, what have we really gained by this move up? We were already there in all other sports except football.

Can anyone name even 10 of the 36 bowl games that were played last year?
That decision has been made, we aren't going back. Go look at Wofford's schedule this year and you'll see why we moved.

Yeah I would like to see the conferences not in the P5 form some type of playoff with maybe 1st round games at home of highest seed and then use some of the other bowls sites for semis and finals --- We did have to get of the SoCon as they lost their best football programs, best basketball programs and best baseball programs to other conferences - My ideal would be a re=grouping of the CAA top programs moving up and we could join them - instant rivalries with JMU, Richmond, Delaware, W&M, Villanova, Maine, NH, etc. and bring GaSo with us --- Yeah, I know I am just dreaming ---

Which I think could happen. I could easily see the P5 breaking off, leaving the G5 as a de facto FCS.

Bingo, that's why we had to move. The FCS will become even more irrelevant to all but those who participate in the now FCS. Remember, we are in NCAA football, the BCS was never NCAA sponsored, just overseen.
