Re: Q&A with Coach Fox
out of boredom, I started looking up the players in the ASU directory and did not find Mike Neal. I wonder if he's done. He is still listed on the bball roster. Of course, Ty Toney is still listed in the directory, and we know that he's gone....so, who knows?
Not that this is a question for Coach Fox, just wondered if anyone knows anything.

Coach Fox responds.
He does mention games at Va Tech, Charlotte and Ga Tech in 2014-15.

Fox makes me more excited every time he does something like this. He seems to enjoy this part of the job.

I like this young coach. Methinks he'll be a difference-maker early and often.

I'd hazard a guess that Toney can attend summer school on ASU's "dime" for the first session. The next session is in the new fiscal year. I'd say the meter runs out for him after this first summer term.
As for Neal, I'd hazard a guess that he's not taking classes during this first summer term--so he's not presently listed as a student. It's my understanding that the entire team is expected to report in July. That means they'll all be enrolled in classes for the second summer session. [Note: After giving that another brief thought, I took time to check the directory. Neal is the *only* upperclassman on the updated roster that isn't enrolled for classes. When I ask myself why a senior with a history of academic suspensions wouldn't be taking the opportunity to add some credit hours to reduce his class load during the fall and spring semesters--I didn't like most of the answers that came immediately to mind. As you said--who knows?]
I would hope that Neal sees a college diploma in his dreams and reports ready for his senior year--ready to work in more places than just at HCC.

66'- I know a little more about this than can be said but you answered the question yourself. Sources say that Neal is not taking classes this fall. And with the new PG commit from TX today read what you will into that but someone isn't coming back if this is a scholarship commit. And I find it difficult to believe that a recruit from TX who had interest from Rice and Sam Houston State would choose to walk-on at App. If you're going to walk-on then why not do it in state? And if you were Neal is it worth your time, as a Senior, to try and come back for what will be a couple of months when we have no post season?asu66 wrote:app97 wrote:out of boredom, I started looking up the players in the ASU directory and did not find Mike Neal. We'll see what kind of coach Fox is over the next few years, but I will already say he's a top-notch salesman for the program. Love the accessibility.

Re: Q&A with Coach Fox
I've done some reading about this new PG commit from TX. According to his hometown newspaper, Ryan Goesling is "a three time All-District selection, shot 64 percent from the field and 77 percent from the free throw line while leading the Cowboys to a 24-13 record and two Bi-District championships. The 6-2, 170-pound Goesling, who will play collegiately at Notre Dame, averaged 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists."firemoose wrote:66'- I know a little more about this than can be said but you answered the question yourself. Whoa...did I just read that he's a 64% shooter from the floor and at some point had been headed to Notre Dame? How was this kid still available in June? What fantasy world have I entered? Can't make this stuff up...

I'll trade Neal for Goesling sight unseen! He looks good on video... http://www.ncsasports.org/mens-basketba ... n-goesling

Re: Q&A with Coach Fox
the common denominator with every single one of the new recruits......they all pass the ball exceptionally well. I think I'm going to like this system....also should be a stark contrast to what we've seen the last few years.
