Chattagnooga

Unread post by Snwbrdro » Mon Sep 17, 2012 9:09 am

Ok, we have all had sunday to doom and gloom over the worst Arse whooping given to ASU by the Citadel or anyone for that matter. Maybe they are that good, we will see saturday when they play NC State. But, we do have an entire season left and every game is huge!!! Lets forget about this game until we play GSU and Wofford, lots of blame for everyone but lets focus on Chattanooga and not have another slip up this weekend!!! GO APPS!!!

Chatty should be a very tough game, I have throught so since the schedule came out. One of the things I have noticed is that our defense so far has had some problems with mobile QB's. I don't know a thing about Huesman but Robinson has definitely shown the ability to run. We have four very experienced seniors on D but everyone else is very young. The d-line has to create more push into the opponents backfield to disrupt the offenses flow. There are obvious ups and downs for young teams, last Saturday was down, very down. Hopefully this Saturday there will be more fire and a get after them defense. The offense is choppy but I have not lost too much confidence in them yet. I still think we are paying the price for not actively signing at least one quality RB every year. We do it with receivers, we have to do it with RB's (and OL) too. Go Mountaineers. Shut that knucklehead on AGS up.

I recall that Huesman has put up some good rushing numbers.

I agree before Saturday's debacle, I thought this was going to be a tough game. We have beaten them by 1 and 2 points respectively the past two seasons. We will need to do one thing we haven't done to date and that is stop the big play. Appman posted on the Rivals board that thus far in 2012 we have given up something like 15 plays of 20+ yards and a handful of 50+ yards plays. That suggests to me that we have a lot players missing their assignments. We definitely have to shore that up if we expect to be successful this or any Saturday.

This game will decide our fate for the rest of the season. Obviously our team never showed up last week, and The Citadel came in well prepared looking for the W they should have had last year. How will this young team respond to getting whipped in every phase of the game? Let's not forget that we basically stole a win from Chatty the past two years so that bunch will be looking to take out some frustration as well. If they get up by a score or two early it could fall apart quickly. A big loss likely means a 4 win season in Boone. A solid victory could mean 7 or 8 wins, but that might be a stretch.

Chatty should be afraid. They should be very afraid. Wouldn't want to be a Moc this weekend. Call them Bill Clinton cause they are going to feel our pain.

I think Chattanooga wins by 10-14 points.

Both UTC and App already have their backs to the wall in terms of the playoffs as both still have to play Wofford and GaSo and both already have 2 losses. App has basically stolen the last 2 games from Chatty thanks to their horrible kicking games and we can't expect that to happen a 3rd time. Need to kick em in the mouth, ring up the win and go to the next one. I think the Apps will be ready but the Mocs have had 2 extra days to prepare and will hopefully be over confident after seeing the Citdog/App film.

Let's go Apps.

Robinson quit then asked to come back 2 days later. He had to sit out the Jax State game. I posted the link on the other thread.
I sat through every minute of last weekends disaster and hopefully will see a different result this weekend! I drive from Chatty to every home game and hope we have a lot of people traveling there this weekend! With them giving away hot dogs and cokes with a ticket and it being their homecoming, they might have a few fans there!

Huesman, the defensive mastermind, has done a pretty good job scheming against ASU's spread in recent years. UTC has a good DL led by UGA transfer, Lott, and DE, Tull. Dothard and Miller lead the LB corp with Wise and Key shoring up their secondary.

The offense cannot come out flat again and the OL must play one of their best games to date. The O needs to be as efficient as possible and put some points up early. This is a huge game both for the conference and the season in general.

Round 3 of:
SS v RH
Series record: (1-1) (2007 & 2008)
Picked up via free agency by the High Country All-Stars

Team needs our support. As bad as we feel, think of how they felt toward the end of that game Saturday. They probably wanted to dig a hole and hide.

For everyone coming to Chatty, and I hope there are a lot of you, BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU PARK OR WALK! I live 20 minutes away and it has gotten to be an every night occurance for someone to get shot or stabbed. It's mostly gang related but some have just been random violence!
Hope to see a lot of you here and let's ROCK KB West!
