Small crowd but very vocal and loud! We have a long way to go as a fanbase...too many excuses!!!,, we are a G5 juggernaut though.

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
We had roughly the same number of people as the C-USA championship and over 4,000 more than the MAC championship. What are you expecting?Apptrain wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 8:27 pmI hate all the aluminum fans present today. This team and coaches deserve so much better than that. Bunch of fair weather, there to socialize, in our fan base. Need more die hards. Truly embarrassing for first ever Sunbelt championship game. Pisses me off. My 2 cents. Can anyone really blame Satt if he goes to the big leagues?

More than under 15,000. More than we did in the post season in fcs.MrCraig wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 11:24 pmWe had roughly the same number of people as the C-USA championship and over 4,000 more than the MAC championship. LOL. We won the championship game. At home. Some of you all act like you need your mommy.

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
No one needs to be criticized for not being there yesterday. There are all kinds of legitimate reasons one couldn't make it. But, it does suggest our fan base isn't what some like to think it is. This was one of the biggest games in KBS history and we draw less than 15,000, 8000 less than the previous week in less than ideal weather.MrCraig wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 11:24 pmWe had roughly the same number of people as the C-USA championship and over 4,000 more than the MAC championship. As pointed out previously, it was a loud, engaged crowd lead by the students who weathered the elements for the entirety of the game.

Had my 1st grandchild’s 1st birthday party in Charlotte. Hated to miss the game but would have hated to miss her event more. Having said that I will be in NO

Right, my point was that those expectations were unrealistic.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:59 amThere are five pages of predictions on the thread, EVERYONE expected much better.

I disagree. There were packed watch parties in Charlotte and elsewhere. Get your ass to the damn game. Too many of these people want and want and take and take and give nothing back to this place.

The thing is, I am so sure there will be over 15k App fans in Kenan on 9/21/19. I'm just not sure what that means.

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
Why do "our fans" feel the need to criticize "our fans" for not being in Boone for a particular game? I have been to the last three games because those were the only games I could attend, and I do have season tickets and parking. My oldest son races a go kart on Saturdays and my youngest son plays futbol on Saturdays. I think it is more important for me to be with them and my wife than to be in Boone for a football game. Just my opinion of course.

That means a UNC road game moves the needle more than a UL home game. Makes sense to me.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 8:22 amThe thing is, I am so sure there will be over 15k App fans in Kenan on 9/21/19. I'm just not sure what that means.
I have a feel the demographic that was missing the most yesterday was young families with kids. I was at the game last weekend with my wife and three kids all under 8. Not an easier thing to do. Back to back weekends with rain. Not happening.

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
I’d say the point is there were plenty of folks who did not have the same obligations as you as they were attending viewing parties in their home towns, and chose not to come.lillycafe wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 8:29 amWhy do "our fans" feel the need to criticize "our fans" for not being in Boone for a particular game? I feel our fanbase is apathetic towards the Sun Belt overall and does not care about the majority of the opponents we play. I have to believe that if we played a familiar opponent on the same date, KBS would be packed.

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
I don’t know about the East side upper level but on the bottom there were about 27 La fans. Loved when the cheerleaders held up the “make noise” signs. It seems like the folks who criticize the low attendance just completely ignore the fact that the opponent fans count as well. If they bring 100 people instead of say, 5,000 which would easily be the case if our conference opponent was ECU or Marshall or even JMU. Now the 14-16k App fans plus the full student section is a completely different story.

To the guy I said would eat crow-I apologize. Instead I'm the crow eater. I was kind of stunned by the stunningly low attendance. Noon game, nasty weather and ESPN is all I can reckon.
In any event the crowd was awesome, it was loud and they stuck around. At times it was VERY loud. I was very proud of the fans that were there. We did good y'all!

Re: Attendance Predictions for SBC Championship Game
Not a single championship game was to a packed house, not one. We compared well vs other G5 games and we won.
Take time to read some of the Louisiana side articles. The attendees some are complaining about made a huge difference in the game. Noise got in their heads and helped the outcome.

This was not a UL home game. It was the conference championship game. Not the same thing.yosef13 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 9:04 amThat means a UNC road game moves the needle more than a UL home game.
