Not complimentary... condescending.... Basically says the only reason we had a shot at them is because their players weren't tested yet... Well guess what???? Ours weren't either. Level playing field. Forget all this compliment crap. We owned that game. Someone at Penn St should come out and say they got handed one. The NCAA should also give us an apology for that officiating crew. End of story.

Did you read the entire article? I actually thought it was a very unbiased take of the game. If you think the below is condescending... geez.

And now this pinball match against a Group of 5 team that entered as a 3-TD underdog but played up in weight class like the 2-time defending Sun Belt champions they are. Forget the well-documented upset of Michigan when they were an FCS team more than a decade ago. App State has proven its FBS mettle in recent years with narrow losses to Wake Forest (2017) and Tennessee (2016).

And [App State] is accustomed to winning; that's what they do."

That really showed around the third/fourth-quarter break. Some loaded-up upstart Power Five team used to losing as much as winning more likely would have drifted off the pace, congratulated themselves for a strong showing and died a quiet fourth-quarter death. But the Mountaineers have winning ingrained in their DNA. They've won 19 games the past two seasons.

And even when Penn State seemed to land the knockout blow on Sanders' 2-yard run at the end of a 6-play, 75-yard drive with 11:17 left, Appalachian State showed neither diminished belief nor panicky decisions. The Mountaineers just kept coming. It was impressive.

Satterfield was asked at the close of his press conference whether his team will be so ready to play at American Conference claimer Charlotte next week:
