Only thing that I don't like about the Cure Bowl is that it's on CBS SportsNetwork and not on a mainstream station.

I thought South Alabama will not (can not) be bowl eligible? 2 FBS wins so far and three games left (one against Presbyterian)... Am I wrong here? I thought Idaho actually had a chance to earn bowl eligibility...

Only one of the FCS wins (Assuming they beat Presbyterian) will could towards the six needed for a bowl. So their 4 wins are valid. Assume this weeks doesn't count, they can still get in with wins in the last two.

Not sure why Idaho was left off the list. They are one of three teams in the Sun Belt currently eligible.

They will file for a waiver and likely get it due the Florida/LSU fiasco. Also there aren't likely to be enough bowl eligible teams to fill the spots this year.

Agreed - it will offer Little to NO EXPOSURE for our program being on a sports sub-channel - of course, better than nothing but ESPN does a really good job with the games they are showing ---

So ODU has a better chance of playing in New Orleans than we do? Just precious.

Assuming Troy wins tonight, and wins out, seems like they would get the NO Bowl. They would be our champion and are closer geographically.

Other options may be available later if conferences are unable to provide enough teams to meet all their tie-ins.

Not sure I understand this projection, Cure took GaSt last year because they pick last. Can't believe Mobile and Mont both pass on App this year but who knows.

Those other options probably won't be for App though. The SBC tie-ins aren't going to allow another bowl to select hopefully a 9-3 SBC team.

Only if the Sun Belt has an excess of eligible teams, which is possible but unlikely.

Last year there was no rationale for any of the first three games to select Georgia State over the other eligible teams. This year could be different. Could certainly see the two Alabama games taking the closer teams and sending App to Orlando.

Not likely, but if they are ESPN owned bowls and they like the matchup they can create by taking App, or Troy, then anything is possible.

It may not matter at all as the Belt may not even get five teams eligible.

The only bowl I cannot attend is Mobile, however, if we get matched up against Ohio again in Montgomery, I doubt I would go to that again. That would kind of suck.

They didn't exactly overrun the city with fans last year. I could see Montgomery inviting us back but wouldn't think they'd be in a hurry to have Ohio back so soon.
