Wow! Grew up listening to their music from my mom's record collection. Sad, sad day for music.

Seriously, an all time favorite. First time I remember hearing the Eagles, they were playing as Linda Ronstadt's band, on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert TV show.

BTW, been thinking about breaking out the vinyl collection, which thankfully I still have. Lot's of Eagles and Jackson Brown. Great stuff.

Feeling a bit old today. Couple of my favorites, Frey and Bowie.

Saw them back in the early 70s --- unlike my alter-ego The Dude in The Big Lebowski - I really like The Eagles ---

My first concert was the Eagles Hell Freezes Over Tour in 1996. My dad was a huge fan in the 70's, and had introduced me to their music when I was young. It was great show featuring all of the Eagles hits for the first half of the show, and then the second half featured the solo hits from Frye, Henley, and Walsh.

I had bought tickets for Charlotte for Hell Freezes Over tour, and show was cancelled and then rescheduled due to illness, I believe Glenn Frey. Ended up getting a refund and missed them when they finally made to Charlotte some months later. Regret that I didn't get to see them, one of my all time favorite bands

“It's Your World Now”
Written by Glenn Frey and Jack Tempchin
From the Eagles’ Long Road Out of Eden album

A perfect day, the sun is sinkin’ low
As evening falls, the gentle breezes blow
The time we shared went by so fast
Just like a dream, we knew it couldn’t last
But I’d do it all again
If I could, somehow
But I must be leavin’ soon
It’s your world now

It’s your world now
My race is run
I’m moving on
Like the setting sun
No sad goodbyes
No tears allowed
You’ll be alright
It’s your world now

It’s your world now
Use well your time
Be part of something good
Leave something good behind
The curtain falls
I take my bow
That’s how it’s meant to be
It’s your world now
It’s your world now
It’s your world now

I just watched The Eagles Part 1 special on CNN. It was fantastic!!! It starts before Frye and Henley even meet. There are some great early films of Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, David Crosby, etc., and goes thru their break up in 1980. There is a Part 2, will try to catch that on on.demand...I would highly recommend Part 1 if you can catch it on replay. You guys, like me, who lived those years will remember some great times and you young guys will see why the music of the 60s and 70s is called CLASSIC ROCK AND ROLL!!!

You're making me feel old, JT. My first concert was Herman's Hermits. Opening act was The Animals...1964

I've watched this on Netflix a dozen times. Great documentary.

At least Don Henley is still kicking so to speak.
