got any suggestions for hotels in the Florida Keys?
Looking to go to Florida Keys next Feb, March or April... Any suggestions for hotels? May stay a total of 5 nights through out the keys... Don't know anything about place. Thanks!

Which key? In key west I would recommend Southernmost at the Beach. Close to Duval, but not too close, plenty of stuff nearby, private water access.
Give 'em hell!

I'll second the Southernmost on Key West. Our daughter-in-law is a fourth generation conch. That's where they had us stay for the wedding. Nice place within walking distance of most stuff but far enough not to get you stuck in the middle of someone else's Duval Crawl.
If serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you.

Fourth gen? Is that going back to 1920 or even 1900? I would think 4th gen would have some family history of the railroad line Flagler built and destroyed in 1935.DaphneUrquhart wrote:I'll second the Southernmost on Key West. This is the exact hotel I looked at in Key West... May stay a day in Marathon Key as well and maybe Key Largo for last night on drive back to Ft. Lauderdale airport.I'll second the Southernmost on Key West. Our daughter-in-law is a fourth generation conch. That's where they had us stay for the wedding. Thanks for input!

Not sure on that piece. I do know there's a strong Cuban component in her heritage. She's nearly as strong-willed as I am and way more intelligent!McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:Fourth gen? If you think to ask your d-i-l about this please do. I love me some train stuff.DaphneUrquhart wrote:Not sure on that piece. I do know there's a strong Cuban component in her heritage. I don't get past the Tampa Bay area really when visiting my mother-in-law.
