Chuck, that reminds me of during one of his campaigns when a guest on one of the PBS radio shows ridiculed Bush for being shot down by the Japs in WW II, saying he must have not been a very good pilot. The host has to this date not apologized for the guest's comment.

I listen to and or watch both. I was referring to NPR, and accidently said PBS. It was the show that was hosted by Diane Rheems' predecessor. I listen to PBS in the mornings religiously for a couple hours each day and again for almost an hour on my 45 minute trip home each night. I dial back and forth from the 4 different NC PBS stations but mostly WFAE and often the one in Chapel Hill itself...91.1 I believe.

FWIW, I sympathize with Diane Rheems (sp) Parkinson like illness, but still her shaky voice grates on my nerves. PBS is good to her by keeping her on, but obviously she wouldn't last a day on commercial radio.

NO OF COURSE NOT!!!!!!!!! That was a figure of speech not meant to be taken literally. I don't even remember who the host was. All I know is it was either before Diane Rheems or she was being replaced that day by a guess host. Any host with half a brain and an ounce of civility would have corrected the guest. Being shot down by a Japanese fighter pilot says nothing about the competence of Bush the older or most any pilot.

Did you mean "imagining" in place of " imaging?" I was not imagining anything. It happened just as much as I am sitting in front of this computer keyboard. After hearing that, I made myself a promise that I wouldn't ever listen to another NPR broadcast...and didn't for months. Needless to say, I broke that promise and starting listening again a few months later and continue to listen to this very day in spite of the obvious anti-conservative slant it takes, especially when Diane hosts. Hell, she still mentions George W. Bush almost daily.

It shouldn't have been. I applaud any 90 year-old who has the guts and the ability to skydive at that age. That's what this was originally about and should have continued to be about.
