A young member of our family is driving from Winston-Salem to Holden Beach later today. The vehicle has NAV, so it should be a relatively e-z drive unless there are still road closures and detours resulting from the two recent hurricanes to complicate things.

Those of you who live down east or travel that area in your work would know if there are issues for a young driver to be concerned about. We would be most grateful for a heads up about any storm related hazards that remain unresolved on main hwys in Robeson/Columbus/Brunswick counties.

Many thanks in advance.

My son lives in Wilmington and all is clear on I-40 and Hwy 74. Highway 17 is also good. I do no know about Holden Beach area specifically.

I live in Myrtle Beach area. Drove thru Columbus Cty. to get to last week's football game. I had no road issues.
