Much needed experience at the Forward position. This is very good news.

That's a huge lift for the Hoops squad. We should have enough pieces to at least be competitive in the conference. I'm not expecting a ton of wins, but this season has potential to at least set the foundation for the future under Fox. It's good to be excited about basketball once again!

That's a big shot in the arm for the Men's Hoops program. Coach Fox is going to have a pretty workable blend of experience, height, speed and fresh reinforcements.
The team's "game" needs a major overhaul between now and November. The players need to buy in to the Fox system (that includes developing some of that Long Island, NY toughness like Davidson players exhibit); they need to live in the library when not on court or in the weight room; they need a psychological adjustment aimed at winning; they need to improve their free-throw and floor shooting; they need to improve their defensive play; they need that old VMI "never say die" will to succeed; and they need to develop a "we're all in this together" chemistry. That's not asking too much!
Methinks this team will surprise some opponents who take the court expecting an easy win.
BTW, I can confirm that frosh forward
Griffin Kinney of Delaware (OH) Rutherford B. Hayes High and Fork Union Military Academy has reported to campus and is formally enrolled as a student. He was the last to arrive
(with one exception). Now all but one of our players are accounted for and together in preparation for next season.**
Mike Neal: Senior guard Mike Neal's name remains on the roster, but he's not presently enrolled as a student at ASU. It's possible he's trying to pick up some credit hours and quality points by pre-approved correspondence courses that ASU will accept as transfer credits. Neal will have to have 90 semester hours of credit and a GPA of at least 2.00 to become classified as a senior and to be eligible for basketball in the upcoming fall semester. I guess it's a waiting game.
