Any player coming from Tony Bennett's system is a great addition to the program

Another player who might be worth our consideration, from the Greensboro News & Record:
RICHMOND RECRUITMENT: Point guard JaQuel Richmond, who helped lead High Point Wesleyan Christian to back-to-back NCISAA Class 3-A boys basketball championships, has re-opened his recruitment. Richmond, a consensus three-star recruit, signed a letter of intent with Houston during the early period, but was recently granted his release by the Cougars after coach James Dickey resigned.
Richmond said in a text Friday that he is considering Boston College, Tennessee, UNC-Wilmington and Rutgers. None has officially offered, but all four are “showing strong interest,” Richmond texted.

Are we certain the NCAA has granted his hardship request? Last I heard, he had applied. Normally, it takes for-ev-er to get a decision.
I've been following UVA fans just a bit since Jones announced his decision to transfer. Not one negative word has been written about the young man. They like his attitude whether he's on the floor or on the bench. And we have MMB forum members who know Jones from his K-town roots. Again--they speak highly of the young man. Order his practice gear and get his name on a locker!

Had not heard about the hardship waiver. Until then, we'll see. If he and Spag both get good news, it's great news for Fox.

Teven is a great kid. I suggested the last staff recruit him out of high school but he had a less than stellar Sr. year and no-one who had shown interest as they had his Jr. year offered.
Then can a serious return to his old form a semester at a "prep-school" and then his time at UVA.
Teven remains a great kid with stellar character. I will leave his basketball ability to those who can do a better job of that than I...but I hope he gets the chance.
As for the comment on Spag.....his appeal was sent in last week and should hear something soon.

"After he sits out the coming season per NCAA rules, will have a year-and-a-half of eligibility remaining at his new school."
So that half year of eligibility means what exactly? Does he sit out a fall semester and play in the Spring?

Yes - he enrolled a semester early at UVA and played 2.5 years there, so he'll be eligible as a junior in January 2016.

Perfect. Thanks for clarifying!

What sums up Teven Jones is AFTER he announced his transfer decision, they honored the team at a UVA baseball game and Jones was right in the thick of the pictures etc. That's a guy who has the respect of his team. Additionally, I met him the night before the Syracuse game last year with Anthony Gill and Justin Anderson and all three were humble, polite guys. We should strive to get people like that who play basketball at App and Jones is a great start.

Well that was quick. His decision or App's?
Is it possible someone placed a curse on the App State PG position? That spot has a higher turnover rate than the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts.
(Note: For older readers, substitute "Drummer for Spinal Tap" in that joke.)

Considering the above quoted articles it's strange. Guess we'll see where he does go if someone jumped in or if he stays at UVA. Who knows.

When did we start making point guards wear red shirts for away games? (For the trekkies)
