Surprise: ASU 26, UTC 26 at the half UTC is heavily favored. Dewart had an awful first half. Way off her game.

The famous SugarMocs, are the members of the UTC Dance Team; stars of many, many SoCon basketball tourney half-time shows. Often better than the basketball. ;)

Ashlen Dewart is the 6' 3" former ASU SoCon Freshman of the Year and first-team All-SoCon forward/center who transferred to UTC after her soph year. She had an embattled relationship with Coach Vincent and her sister was a scholarship player at UTC. Thus the connection. FYI, Dewart missed foul shots that would have won the SoCon tourney two-three years ago. Vincent threw a very loud and very public on-camera tantrum. It was all downhill from there.

I remember the free-throws and the tantrum. Forgot the name, but I assumed it was a transfer situation. Thanks.

Final Mocs 73, Apps 68 OT; Mocs remain unbeaten in SoCon (6-0)

Young Apps are making significant progress. KeKe Cooper is for real! Darcie was even excited, positive about her team's improvement. That a good sign.

This team has seemingly turned a corner. I don't feel like they're now going to rip off a bunch of wins in a row, but they're gaining confidence.

On Saturday, Darcie unleashed a new zone defense with Sydnor at the top of the key, Cooper down low and the guards on the wings and it's worked great two games in, especially against the best team in the league tonight.

Offensively it's still getting there. Bria Huffman in particular has found her range shooting the ball. Guard play is getting better and it's helping Sydnor and Cooper down low. KeKe in particular is getting better and better with her footwork and rebounding.

Very impressed tonight despite the loss. This team is going to be a force in the Sun Belt next year.
