BOONE, N.C. -- App State men's basketball will welcome Troy to the Holmes Center on Saturday at 4 p.m. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Appalachian Sports Network from Learfield IMG College.

ALUMNI DAY
Saturday's contest is Alumni Day. The Mountaineers will welcome and honor over 50 alumni of the program during halftime. In addition, the first 500 fans receive a 100th anniversary lapel pin, the first 200 fans receive a commemorative poster and the first 100 students receive a t-shirt.

SCOUTING THE TROJANS
Troy fell at Coastal Carolina on Thursday evening by a 90-60 score to drop to 9-19 on the season and 5-12 in conference play

In Thursday's contest, Ty Gordon tallied a team-high 15 points off the bench, while Nick Stampley tallied 14 points

Gordon leads the team in scoring at 12.6 points. Zay Williams (11.1 ppg) and Desmond Williams (10.2 ppg) are also averaging double figures for the Trojans

The Trojans have made 237 three-pointers this season, which is second most in the Sun Belt.

Poor half against a bad team. We seem to be going backwards.Just getting out hustled on both ends.This is a game we should take control of. Disappointing.

Came out with a lot more energy and went inside with the ball in the second half.Credit to Coach Kerns for lighting a fire.

Total logjam for the 2<>5 spots. Two more wins still likely gets us a top 4 but it’ll be tight.

Favorite play was the Kendell Lewis dunk immediately followed by him pointing at the guy he dunked on. Super petty and I love it!

Scott Cross kept his kids in it but the good guys played better "D" in the second period. KLewis, Johnson and Seacat maintained the cool heads and were solid as a rock on defense after the half.

Williams (38 min.), Johnson (38 min.), Seacat (35 min.) and Forrest (33 min.) were the iron men Kerns wanted on the floor today. Forrest came off the bench to earn the radio network player of the game designation.

Great win, bad beat. The foul and subsequent pair of Troy made free throws with two tenths left kept App from covering the 9.5 spread. Hahahahaha

Considering we win the last 3, tough but doable, what needs to happen elsewhere for App to get the double bye?

Wow! Great win! I freaking missed the game! But 1st time we've ever had 10 conference wins! 16 wins for first time in YEARS! So 2 more home games and ULM. Would love to get these next three or 2 of 3.

I thought Lewis was fouled, as well. Maybe that’s why he was pointing.

We'd be in 3rd/4th had we won on Thursday, but oh well. Currently 6th and could sneak up to 3rd/4th, which would be huuuuuuge.

One UTA loss couple with one App win and we clinch the 6th seed. I don’t see a reasonable path forward to 4th.

I’d prefer the 6th seed to 5th to avoid LR and USA.

If Texas State beats South Alabama (Monday, March 2), Georgia State beats Southern (Friday, Feb. 28) and App holds serve in the last two games, we should be at worst 4th cause we'll have tiebreaker over both teams.

How do we have the tie breaker over USA?
