We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. Sharkey has career night in win over C of C

Unread post by asu66 » Wed Feb 20, 2013 10:59 pm

Darcie Vincent picked up win #102 tonite with a 74 - 65 win over the Lady Cougs of the College of Charleston. Darcie's Apps were led by the inspired play of senior utility player Kelsey Sharkey who put up a scoreboard full of numbers...14 points, 14 boards, 2 assists, 5 blocks and 2 steals in 34 minutes of play. Not too shabby.

Speaking of not too shabby, the Lady Apps (18-6, 12-4 SoCon) have climbed back into the Mid-Major Top 25 thanks to four straight victories, including a road win at Western Carolina where the Mountaineers dominated their way to a 63-32 win on Monday and tonite's win over Charleston.

For the first time since Feb. 5, Appalachian is ranked in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25. The Mountaineers check in at No. 22 this week. Delaware tops the poll, followed by Green Bay and Gonzaga. Appalachian is one of two Southern Conference squads to appear in this week's poll. Chattanooga sits in fifth place.

If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Darcie seems to have them playing her way again. However, we have to prove we can do it against the top of the league where we stand 0-3 at the moment. Hopefully, we have gotten over our lull and we will have the momentum heading down the stretch and into the SoCon tourney.
