For as much of a homer that I am for our football program. I would rival an other poster with my negativity toward our basketball program. So lets start a dialogue about who you would like to see be the next head coach for our Mountaineers.

Call me crazy, but no woman has ever been the head coach of D-I Men's Basketball Team. It would be an attention grabber at the very least.

Ya know, we improved leaps and bounds since the High Point loss in the 2nd half...Okam doesn't foul out late and we win tonight.

Juuuuuust sayin'...

It is encouraging that we're playing better since the first real game of the season. It was going to be a struggle even before Neal's academic problems and now the glass-half-full prognosis is that we'll be much better by the new year.

Hold off the pitchforks and torches until February.

I am keeping the fire burning under the tar though, just in case. ;)

Sorry but that post sounds so much like the Western fan mentality. "We are losing by less, so we must be getting better!"

Please just don't hire Jeff Bzdelik after Wake Forest fires him this off season. Anyone but him, he is awful.

From the Watauga Democrat:

"Appalachian State came all the way back from a 19-point deficit, but could not close out Duquesne and fell 73-72 to the Dukes in front of 741 fans at the Holmes Center Tuesday"

I recommend the next coach be selected from 1 of the 741 fans in attendance last night. By Lottery

Attendance of 741 for a home basketball game at an institution with over 17,000 students is beyond embarrassing.

If we were undefeated attendance may have topped 1,000.

I don't get it. On a Wednesday night, don't tell me the students were watching the Big 10 ACC Challange?

That is the #1 reason a change has to be made.

I wonder if Mark Harrill even has the guts to show his face in the HCC???

Obviously, the players and coaches need to get their acts together but in a 1-point loss like last night, an actual home-court advantage would have been nice.

The little crowd did actually get pretty rowdy when we came back at the end. It's amazing how not sucking will energize a group of people. I'm of the opinion that we won't get better attendance until we get a better product. It was not too long ago when we had decent attendance, and what do you know, we had a good team to watch.

As far as the next coach goes, I think it's high time we look outside of the Tar Hole alumni pool. We need/want/deserve better than Jason Capel. With facilities like ours, there is absolutely no excuse for not recruiting better players than the rest of the conference.
