Good question. Another good question is why did he ride the pine for the duration of the N.Greenville game? Not certain he ever took his warm-up gear off. He was a "DNP!"

BTW, for the last two games I've harped about Capel's new three guard attack strategy. In both games, he started Burgess, Eaves and Hamilton at the guard slots; and in both games they shot an astounding 16 percent from the floor. Today, Neal replaced Hamilton in the guard trio and the shooting proficiency improved to a *staggering* 28 percent. From three point land, those three guys shot 1 for 15; or a laughable 6.6 percent.

We simply aren't going to beat any DI team on our schedule with stats like that. Looking ahead to the next two contests--on the road to Winthrop and to Presbyterian--I see two more losses. I had a faint hope about a win at Presby until they absolutely hammered UNC-G in the Greensboro Coliseum. I see almost no possibility for another win until Milligan and Bluefield come to HCC.

One more thought and then I'm done for the day with my basketball sarcasm. Darcy's women have five more roadies before they play at home again. Now standing at 1-7 on the season, look for them to be 1-12 after their swing through Radford, Ohio State, UNC-W, Furman and Wofford. Darcie has two solid DI players in Maryah Sydnor and KeKe Cooper; and very little in the way of scoring and rebounding beyond those two.

The only simple thought I can muster regarding both teams is just--Ouch!

With all the success she has had over the last several years one would have thought she could/would have recruited better.

Is it a lack of talent or bad coaching? Or maybe a combination of the two? This same team got a lot stronger at the end of last season, at least it seemed! Well minus one player! Was he that big a difference? (Healy)

We have talent, but no way of developing it or fitting the pieces together.
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

For some reason, UNCC's official twitter account followed me this morning.

They were promptly blocked 8-)

Healy is a huge difference because he was so strong on defense. Hard to just replace to Conference DPOY. His leadership ability is also missed. Things will help once Canty returns next week.

Not sure if it does any good for me to pile on. We have no inside threat. Obacha took zero shots, because he kicked it out every time he corralled an offensive board. Baskin continues to shoot long jumpers when we have three guards in the court that can miss those shots. We need Baskin to penetrate, get fouled and hit free throws. Neal creates everything he does basically on his own. Tabb is horrendous. His defense is bad, he never follows his shot, and he always shoots and never passes. Burgess is lost in this 3 guard lineup. It's just not for him. Eaves has terrible form for a shooter. Canty, if he comes back will not improve this team much. Just will steal any minutes from Spagnola. Kobani looked better last night than he did all year, so there is a bright spot. Why Rantavious agilbert didn't play more is beyond me. He is a shot blocker and could have helped in the post.

We just have to get through this season, and pray our APR does not cost us scholarships and practice time. You thought football season was rough? This
team will implode, just a matter of time.

The end of game incident surely happened. I was within earshot of call spoken words and saw most of it unfold. The coach/DOBO, deleted his twitter, which basically admits his guilt. He knew he messed up, and had to be restrained and escorted to the locker room area. Whether an apology is issued or not, it doesn't matter to me. The incident has been talked about in high places, so the guy will be reprimanded or get a stern talking to. Wouldn't mind some mud on UNCC's face.

Me too. I didn't block them, I'll just be sure to start including their handle whenever I make disparaging tweets about UNC-C.
