Wow a college age kid doing good in high school, what a concept! Next year he'll be facing college age kids he graduated with that have been playing college ball a year, plus a new class of kids graduating this year. His demand might not be as high as he thinks it will be.

It is college athletics. There will always be demand for low character guys with a little talent and a few jock sniffers to tell them how great they are.

His "team" was beginning to get some pressure on but they made the stupid mistake of playing the SunBelt card and saying he would have stayed at App if we hadn't moved. Completely contradicted their whole point that he was a high major player held hostage by App. All those high major coaches calling would have been turned away if App had stayed in a weak SoCon losing it's best basketball programs? Right. And I had the winning numbers from last nights Mega Millions but forgot to buy the ticket.

Breaking news APP will release him and Capel will be fired. It is truly amazing all the post agreeing with me that it is time for Capel to go. Like I said months ago Graham wasn't released from LOI due to Capel trying to salvage a job. There was never any tampering, Just a selfish, arrogant individual who saw a opportunity to blame someone else for his failures. This kid has talent and realized he could play at a higher level thats it. Heck, look at this season what player of this calibre would want to be here. I know it died down for a while in the media, But I've been told it's not over.

You keep forgetting that your hypothetical girl signed a binding legal contract. Perhaps she should be more diligent about what she signs and begins to understand the value of a person's word, which in her case appears to not be much.

More like the guy proposed and the girl started seeing other guys behind his back and then called of the engagement after the guy had booked the church.

I almost sent an e-mail to Jason Smith, the coach at Brewster Academy, to ask what good it does him to post this kind of stuff on twitter. But, I thought about it for a couple or days and decided I did not need to waste my time with someone like him.

ESPN fingered NCSU as the school. AppState has never said one way or another.

Doesn't change the fact that he said yes to App and then bolted when a bigger school batted their eyes at him. Jason has not spoke out about him except for what was sent to the NCAA and the statement that was released when Graham went to the media as the poor naive, chased recruit that was being victimized by the small, big bad school that wouldn't allow him to chase him dream of playing D1 ball. And most of what has been said on his side has been said by third parties, asu123 I am looking at you as 1 of them. I have yet to see him do a sit down with anyone to tell his side of the story. Jason and Apps hands are tied due to policies in place. It is still a little bit of a red flag that no one has set Graham down and asked him for the whole timeline and the hard questions about how it all went down. If he would do that, it would go a long way to getting him a release.

Still doesn't change the fact that he signed a binding contract. If he wanted to wait he didn't have to sign it.

Instant Karma, indeed. Where is he playing this year? Next year?

You can lay some things on Capel but not this one. The kid signed and does not want to live up to his commitment. We are not preventing him from playing division 1 basketball. We are DIV 1 and he is welcome to play for us. What you have not ben able to come up with is a legitimate reason he should not live up to his commitment. We have given him a place to play and a free education. If he is really good enough the NBA will find him wherever he is. How are we harming him? What we have here is a kid who was very happy with his strawberry ice cream cone till someone offered him a banana split.

Can we please just cut ties with this arrogant punk? Flomo, coming in next year, appears to be a better player, and he wants to be here. The kid is a McDonald's All American nominee! Sick and tired of "Dtae" when we have a superior player coming in. Let him go play at Butler. I just hope we have a chance to play him.

My point has truly been missed. I never said this kid was right by skipping out on LOI, I only said the punishment doesn't fit the crime. Should he be forced to sit 2 years for alleged tampering? No!!!

Should we continue to hold him and lose scholly again, New coach will have enough pressure trying to clean up Capel's mess

Your point is not being missed, it is just in the wrong place.

As long as we cut him at the end of this season, he can play next year. The tampering has not been disproved, it might not have been NCSU, but no one from App has ever said that it was them, that was ESPN. There were more schools looking at him after he signed with us than NCSU.

It would only be unfitting if he was still held to it after Jason was gone.

Until ether App State or Devonte Graham makes a statement (first party or first party to reporter), I think we need to shelve this thread.

Every time I think this thread has died the death it deserves, 123 resurrects it with the same old, tired argument that misses the point in all of this discussion. Please let it drop 123. ASU and even Capel is not the bad guys here. Prinicple and a man's word should be good for something.
