Wish they would use our block "A" instead of the mountaineer. I missed it the first time I looked through the list. But it is nice to be on the list.

The college sports network on Sirius/XM has been talking us up all week. It's been amazing how many times I've heard our name mentioned this week. Both Richt and Scott were on this afternoon's national show. Hopefully our exposure gets even greater after this weekend.

Doesn't mean we're going to win, obviously, but it shows national media are starting to take this program seriously. What an opportunity we have.

That's why in some ways the pressure might be greater on us now to live up to expectations. I don't think we have to win to maintain the respect we are beginning to garner but we do have to comport ourselves according to the growing national perception.

The one thing that scares me is the U QB has not played a good game yet and still they crushed FIU. I have no idea how we stack up against a team that is coming to Boone with a chip on its shoulder feeling disrespected. Please people don't leave the stadium if we are getting whipped. I believe they have more talent than IT and a better coach. Again I just don't know....and our performance against ODU was lackluster.

They played FAU and came far from crushing them. FAU is quite possibly worse than ODU yet App held them to 7 points.

Let me rephrase. We didn't get to the ODU QB and ODU held us to 7 points in the 2nd half

I am concerned we don't have the offense to compete in this game. The passing game has been a big issue and I don't think we can run on them like we did at UT. Our Defense is going to be exhausted, if we can't move the ball. They use a huge fullback as a lead blocker and like to pound it right at you.

I will cheer regardless but the 2nd half of ODU was a horrible performance on offense, does not leave me confident.

Regardless of the outcome, you have to appreciate how much the App program has done in the first two years of FBS

I think we can run on them better than we did against UT. That their defense has looked good so far this season is all smoke and mirrors in my opinion.

Saw Scott Van Pelt picked us as one of his underdog picks. Gave us a bit of credit and didn't really talk about us as an underdog at all. Sounded more astonished that the spread favored Miami. He took "the boys from Boone". Hope he's right.

The more I look into Miami's first two games the more optimistic I get; especially the FAU game.

FAU is simply not a good fbs team at the moment. They gave up 30 points week one to Southern Illinois Salukis.
Miami only scored 38.

This will be their first real test of the season, their first road game, all against a team that is determined to prove they can play and WIN against P5 competition in the biggest home game in the program's history. This has all the makeup for an App State win.

The QB for ODU was a converted WR that is very athletic. We flushed him many times amd hit him just after throwing a good bit, but his athleticism kept us from getting sacks. Kaaya is more of a pocket passer, and he made some poor throws when FAU got near him. It appears he his having a little trouble adjusting to playing under center. Lets hope its still a work in progress this week.

Don't forget that Kayaa will line up under center. He won't have the luxury of standing 5 yards away from the line.
