Biggest game in Boone. All signs point to the *potential* of a new record attendance.

The current record sits at 31,531. Large number was general admission/standing room only.
I was under the impression at the time that they did not limit the number of general admission tickets, thus the reason for the attendance record.
I was there for that game and did stand for the entire game. It was a packed house, but I don’t recall any issues with safety or security.

I think current stadium seating capacity is just over 24,000. I’m not sure how many people they account for on the end zone grass.

I heard that the fire marshal was going to put a cap on the entrants into stadium at well below 30k, due to safety considerations. If this is true, then any hope of breaking records is shot. Anyone have any insight here?

Doug Gillin has already confirmed that the attendance record will be broken. It will be shattered. At least 33-34k IMO.

Maybe that fire marshal rumor is coming from the same place as the "student tix capped at 8,000" one. Makes about as much sense.

Absolutely no question. The demand for tickets is unreal.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard "the Fire Marshall..." I have yet to ever see one or to have been at a venue where he did something.

Since we count tickets sold instead of number of people actually in the stadium. Yes it will be broken. Rain/weather may keep the actual numbers from being there.

I heard to Fire Marshall won an all expense paid vacation to Florida from the Yosef Club for this weekend and will not be present.

I've seen him before. He locked the doors to Legends in the third quarter of Michigan 2007. He let who was in there stay in there though.

The Fire Marshall is just the fictional authority figure bars used to keep the basket of deplorables out on Thursday night at Genos and Savannah Joes.

Saw him at Macados a few times on Tuesday nights for their $5 pitcher nights.

As well as while I was working at Rafters on $5 drink til you drown nights.
