2019 open dates

Unread post by Boone Goon » Mon Sep 05, 2016 11:43 am

Looking at our 2019 schedule it looks like we need 2 road games. UNC and Alabama both need home games...its frustrating to realize we have a better chance at getting Alabama to schedule is than the girls in Chapel Hill.

It's a no brained if the hill will do H&H with a large buyout clause.

If there is a buyout clause then I would rather just take the payday. I doubt the buyout would be as much as a straight payout.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. We need two more OOC games for 2019. I started looking at other schools with open dates that year, UNC and Bama are two of them. A couple of weeks back there was talk of EZU but they're full until '21. UVa, FSU, Louisville, and Texas A&M are also looking for games in '19.

There are still some good options out there for '19. Just curious which ones the group is interested in and whether or not anyone thinks UNC will ever grace us with their presence on a football field?

DG has his work cut out for him this offseason when it comes to signing future OOC games.

Great subject to keep an eye on as we get the winning started this year. Need another recognizable name to head up the mountain in 2019 to continue our climb.

One issue with any ACC school is that they're deciding whether to go to a 9 game conference schedule. If that happens, obviously it gets tougher to schedule any of them.

As for UNC, I don't think they are interested in coming to Boone, and I'm not sure we're interested in playing them there without a return game.

I feel like UVA would be willing to schedule a H and H with us. I know they went to Wyoming not too long ago.

Looks like these schools also need a home game in '19 and a road game in '20 and/or '21:

Boise
Georgia Tech
Syracuse
Boston College
Virginia
Western Kentucky
Middle TN St.
FIU
Kansas
South Florida
Central Florida
La. Tech
Air Force

My thoughts are any of the Florida schools from a recruiting standpoint. WKU, MTSU and La Tech for G5 bragging rights and Virginia because of proximity. MHO.

We represent well in Atlanta so Ga Tech would be appealing minus their O

I say no to Ga Tech as long as PJ and his "cut the knees" offense is there. One game a year with GS doing this is more than enough.

Would love a H&H with Virginia. It has the close proximity for our fan base to travel for a P5 opponent and is within our recruiting footprint.

For selfish reasons alone, I would like to see any of the Florida schools. USF, FIU, UCF, all within 2 hours from me.
