If anyone wants to crap on a freshman kicker, then I want them to turn in their black and gold t-shirts and root for another team.

No need to trash our K. No one feels worse than him. He'll get a few more chances during the whiteout next week.

Just remember Zach Matics crapped out a few seasons ago and made up for it in spades.

The word from camp was that Rubino had a strong leg but was inconsistent. The hope is with more game experience, he develops more consistency. As was pointed out Matics struggled his junior season and finished with a stellar senior season. No position on the field is more pressure filled than kicking field goals. I think we all can sympathize for how Rubino feels. His next kicks will be the most important of the season. Kicking is about confidence. I would guess right now his at a pretty low point..

you can tell he had a strong leg. It was a rough game for him and I am sure he will get better, but that missed extra point hurt. Great game over all.
