I would be happy with Orlando... Might even be able to work New Orleans too!
Had a blast last year in Montgomery!

My girls would love us to make the Cure bowl, my wallet not so much.

Who knew CSU was in the AAC???
IIRC, the Cure Bowl picks last so NOLA, Cameilla and GoDaddy will have all picked another program over App, unless we end up 4th (see GASt 2015). While I believe most of our fans would prefer the Orlando destination and AAC opponent (#6 AAC team I believe), it seems a bit off that the other 3 would skip over App assuming the team lives up to 2016 expectations. I have to think Mobile or Montgomery would select App after the impressive showing we had last year. I feel NOLA is out of reach for our Mountaineers unless stAte and ULL collectively wet the bed in the same season.

If we aren't going to the NO bowl, I'd prefer the Cure bowl to the others due to date and location, and being a different bowl.

Remember last year, the Cure took a 5-7 San Jose St. team because the AAC didn't have an eligible team available. That's what they're projecting here.
I was all about the Cure last year due to location and AAC tie-in, until I realized that we were looking at playing a .500 opponent (or worse, as it turned out) in a year we went 10-2.
I could see us winding up there though - remember GS is closer to Montgomery than we are, and Troy is basically right down the road.

I'm guessing that means the writer doesn't think APP finishes at the top of the SB?

The bowls are NOT contracted to take a certain placed team from the SBC. The NO bowl tends to take the #1 or #2 team historically with the GoDaddy taking the next best team (although they didn't last year).
Given App's distance from these bowls compared to our conference members this makes our season ticket sales, sales to away games, prior bowl game sales SOOOO important. Also why I and other stress the importance of buying through our ticket office vs. secondary markets.

What we haven't seen yet is whether the NOLA Bowl would take a 6-6 ULL team over, say, a 9- or 10-win team from somewhere else. We might find out this year.

EastHall, Does the NOLA bowl not have to take a member from the Sunbelt? I thought that the conference tie in held a spot as long as there were teams from the conference that were eligible (6-6 or above record).

Yes, I didn't mean they'd take a team from another conference. I meant another Sun Belt team that is much farther away geographically than ULL.

If we win the Sun Belt out right, then I'd like to see us play another conference champion. Only way that can happen is if we play the winner of the MAC in Montgomery..right?

GoDaddy in Mobile usually gets the MAC champ. I believe GoDaddy has 1st pick from MAC and 2nd pick from SB.

Doesn't Nola Bowl get first selection for bowl tie in? If yes, I'd think App goes there if we win the conference outside of Louisiana surprising most by finishing in top 3 in the league.

The NO Bowl does get first pick, but they would take Ark. State or UK over us.
