7-4

I think it is more than likely we will end up 7-4 this year. I made a call to the radio after the game asking about what DJ's thoughts are moving forward and I got the feeling that he and brownie believed this would be our record. With that being said I think we could still have a shot at the playoffs. However we would likely be playing at home on november 24th and not get the first week bye. Curious to see what other peoples thoughts are.

At this point I would be satisfied with 7-4. App may not make the field at 7-4 as with Montana losing again today the Apps will have no real signature win unless they upset Stink. It wouldn't be bad to play at least one playoff game as this young team could use the experience. App could get hot and win the next 3 also, just have to wait and see. Still lots of football left.

7-4 is the best we can hope for. I hate to be negative, but it's going to be ugly in Gnatsboro. Next week will be the Can't super bowl. We can't automatically put that one in the win column. Furman would like nothing better than to exorcise some KBS demons. We have no gimmes left.

With enthusiasm waning amongst our crowd at home, a home date in the playoffs the Saturday after Thanksgiving might be a financial blood-bath for our school. If I were bidding at this point, I'd bid low maybe not minimum.

We will make the playoffs at 7-4, but a home game isn't going to happen.

If we happen to get to the playoffs and get a home game it will be like ghost town at Kidd Brewer/Conrad stadium.

15K tops if we play at home the weekend of Thanksgiving

15 K tops is what will be announced. Maybe 7,500 actual bodies.

We might start the game with 10k, but by the 3rd quarter we would be lucky to have 5k. AppFan's behavior recently has bothered the hell outta me. I'm really sick of fans leaving after halftime with the game still in doubt.

There were 27K there today. You know, a few weeks after The Citadel supposedly wiped out the bandwagon for good. And you know what? There will be 27K against Furman.
It's okay to admit our fanbase isn't that fickle...

At 7-4 we will definitely be in and we will definitely be playing at home in the first round. Don't forget home field advantage (after the seeds) is based on who bids the most money.

Our crowd yesterday was FLAT. The enthusiasm isn't what it has been in the past. I HOPE you are right about Furman. Personally, I haven't missed a home game since my kids played youth soccer----2002.

If there were 27k people in the stands yesterday, then I'm the Jolly Green Giant.

The crowd was disappointing yesterday. Thinned out significantly at halftime of a 3-point ballgame.
Also, I am not convinced that 7-4 will get us in. There will be a lot of 7-8 win teams out there and if we lose at GSU, we have no marquee wins at all. Montana is 3-5, Coastal is 3-4 and Samford just lost their 3rd game in the last 4 weeks. If we are hanging our hat on the Chattanooga win, we can hardly argue if we get left out.

Credit for that goes to Wofford. That's exactly what the triple option is supposed to do: frustrate the defense and take the crowd out of a game. Wofford got whatever they wanted offensively.
I don't care what happens to the crowd. If they paid money to the school for that ticket, they can do whatever they want.

Thinking back going into this season, if you wanted to bet me that this young team would be 5-3 right now, I am an optomistic App fan but probably would have taken your bet. I hope for 8-3, but I think 7-4 gets App into the playoffs and that would be a good result IMO for this team given their lack of experience and injuries.
I also don't understand the crowd leaving early every week, but that is on them. That's not supporting our team IMO. On the other hand, other self proclaimed "true App fans" bashing them and then also saying that they will not be coming to games any more does not make sense. How is that supporting the team

Not to argue about the crowd, but if capacity is still 24,500, even with the bank, there was more empty aluminum showing to suggest that crowd was actually closer to 21,000 bodies. They might have distributed 27,000 tickets but no where close to that many showed up.

Crowd in the 212 seemed into it until the last few minutes when you knew for sure it was over.

Coming into the season, the consensus seemed to be that this is a youthful bunch and would be a 7-4 team. Now, it appears that we will get exactly what we expected and many seem ready to abandon ship. Is anyone else confused by that?
