Yeah, you've got a little recency bias in your list, might want to get a few suggestions from some of the grizzled vets around here. However, for me it's AE regardless.

Wayne Byrd (held interceptions record until Lynch broke it). Family bias! lol

I will move on the top 3 against players from the old days so the top 3 move on to a round of old time players and then there will be a champion chip Lund of the top 2-4 players vote away

Most fun to watch? Obviously AE. And 2007 was my freshman year.

But I'd have to say my FAVORITE overall would be Deandre Presley. He was a great QB. When his success waned he stepped aside with grace and humbly asked the coach to contribute in other ways. He got moved to DB, started playing like the best DB on the team, and made a damn NFL roster as a defensive back within the year. Talk about heart and athleticism.

John Settle .... tremendous player and a great guy. AE would also be right up there.

Coach: Jim Brakefield He was the man who led us into Division 1 in the first place and that 1975 team will always hold a special place in my heart.

Player/alumni: Armanti...hands down, and that's not a slam on the greats who played from 1974-1978 either. He was just that good.

I look at this, as who would I want to see play one more game. Coaches need not apply. It's Armanti.

But Richie Williams is way up there.

When you're an App State fan since 1960 something, there are a LOT of really fine players and a few fine head coaches to choose from. Someone has already mentioned Larry Hand and Wayne Byrd from the 60's. And Coach Brakefield from the 70's. And John Settle, Dino Hackett and Dexter Coakley from the 80's and 90's. And Coach Moore, KRich, DeAndre and Armanti since 2000. There are many, many more that merit having their names in this thread. No time to do that, so I'll sign out this way.

Guys who could take control of a game in their very separate ways...

Before 2000...#71 OL/DL Larry Hand who had no Mountaineer equal at his positions in his day (or since for that matter) and who had a distinguished 13 year career with the Detroit Lions. He "cut his All-Pro teeth" lining up beside Alex Karras--one of the NFL's famous "Fearless-Foursome."

After 2000...it's very simple...#14 QB Armanti Edwards. Armanti, at his best, had no Mountaineer equal *ever* at his position. We've seen him make a few plays that, even today, remain almost unbelievable.

If this had to be the final thoughts for this thread it would possibly sum it up nicely.
