*This is in the football folder because we spend most of the show discussing football*
This is a really cool episode.
Men's Basketball Coach Jim Fox joins us to discuss this season, the road ahead and his goals for the program... he also has a great Steph Curry story.
Also, App State Beat Writer Brant Wilkerson-New stops by and talks about his most memorable moments from the 2015 season. He also talks about what to expect in 2016 with the 2015 red shirt players.
Big C and I had a lot of fun with this one!

Thanks, guys! That was awesome.
Fox has a terrific vision for App State BB. And taking his team to Italy and Slovenia this summer will be a great educational and bonding experience for our guys. Perhaps even a great recruiting opportunity. Ya never know 'til you get there.
Also, B.Wilkerson-New of the WSJ is a treasure. He just took over from Tommy Bowman and is building on the solid foundation that Tommy created. Good stuff.

My favorite part of this episode was BWN saying readership was up 94% over last year. Not only is that an indication of the quality of coverage, but it shows the excitement level of the fan base is growing back to where it once was. It would appear everyone is now on-board with the move at least to some degree, and most have finally moved past the coaching change.
If we can start next year 3-1 we should have a packed KBS all year.

Some of the increase in WSJ readership is up due to Brent's efforts on social media and finding new avenues to reach users.
I really enjoy listening to Fox and believe given two more years he can right the ship.
We'll know if he's a success next year and the year thereafter if we here less about Steph and DC and more about App. I like those stories, but I look forward to him creating new ones at App.

He tells those stories because he is asked to tell them. And if Curry continues to play at the same level, Fox will probably be asked to tell them for a long time to come. But yes...I hope he will have some App stories to tell when all is said and done.

The Good kid from David Crockett High in Tennessee that just committed to us looks as if he has the ability to create some of those stories for Fox.

Getting to know Brent a little this season, one thing that is obvious is his passion. He loves covering App State sports and going beyond box score stats into the "human moment" part of the story. Him mentioning Devan Stringer picking up the fumble was something I hadn't thought about in a while but it was a very powerful moment. It's great to know how the quality of his work has made an impact on the App State brand.

Agreed! It's not every day someone carries personal stories about one of the best players in basketball history! Fox is and should be proud of the relationship he has with Steph.
You can't manufacture or force good stories or fond memories. It comes with time. Back in college I worked with the athletics staff and heard great stories of Cremmins, Buzz round one and even some Fancher teams. If Fox is able to implement what he wants to do at App State, I'm confident the fond memories will follow. Fox certainly has the energy and personality to make those stories worth telling too.

Maybe one day he can tell the story of how he brought the App program from one of the worst to the final 4.

As always a fantastic show. I have a new respect for Coach Fox, and I appreciate the continued support for App Nation.
