I second that comment. That was my first thought as well. I still don't believe students should be involved on the "judicial" side of a conduct board. I'm sure this will have an influence on future decisions of this type especially with the expediency of the process.

There were changes after this fiasco. The student conduct board no longer hears sexual misconduct charges, as they shouldn't.

The accuser in this case had to explain her side of the story several times and only learned the accused were allowed back on campus for a re-trial after running into them on campus. Also, the burden of proof wasn't beyond a reasonable doubt, which is why the county DA didn't press charges.

This was a sad chapter and mistakes were made in many different ways to both the accuser and accused.
