Re: RE: Re: Clemson Trivia Question
The week prior they won and went down in the poles so I can guarantee you they did not remove the starters against Miami. That was a statement beat down. They did not need to do that against App. Nothing to gain.WVAPPeer wrote:Didn't they beat Miami 58-0?

Re: Clemson Trivia Question
Not a fan of statistics like this for many reasons. For one, Clemson was gifted a short field to work with, for two after that massive 2nd quarter they did pull some guys and ran a lot more.
Our defense is top notch, but I wouldn't look into these statistics that much.

Re: Clemson Trivia Question
It's a trivia question - I am not comparing teams ---
But since you guys can't take a trivia question for what it is ---
VS. APP
Watson rushed 9 times for 17 yards
Gallman rushed 15 times for 79 yards

Here's some comparative stats - evidently some didn't actually check the stats before making comments ---
vs. APP --- Watson and Gallman combined for 24 rushes for 97 yards
vs. UM --- Watson and Gallman combined for 30 rushes for 216 yards
vs. APP --- Watson threw 26 times for 248 yards
vs. UM --- Watson threw 19 times for 143 yards

Re: Clemson Trivia Question
If it weren't for 3 nearly consecutive throws that absolutely destroyed our momentum it could have been a much different game. Call me a homer all you want.
Maybe they sat Deshaun because Ronald Blair kept putting his golden buns on the turf and they didn't want to risk injury. :stir:

Re: Clemson Trivia Question
Honestly, I would say we strung together 2.5 bad series that took the wind out of our sails. Easy how quick many forget it was a 3-0 game nearly 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter. That also was after we drove into the redzone and TL threw the 1st of 3 interceptions. This one in their endzone as we were looking to take a 7-3 lead and at worst tie it. We then held them on downs. It was after that punt that we threw the pick-6. Instead of 7-3 it was 10-0.CVAPP wrote:We sucked against Clempson. Sorry that kills your buzz. BTW, where can a person getAppDawg wrote:Geez... And all of that was against their 1st string and BEFORE they put their "subs" in as so many are quick to point out. Yes, it got away from us after the next series and couldn't get to lockerroom fast enough. Until those turnovers, Clemson's offense was not moving the ball at all.
All-in-all, the score looked worse than what the overall game really was.
Have some pride and be proud of our team and not find every opportunity to belittle our accomplishments (not directed at you personally but rather all the negativeness about our program this board has come to lately rather intended or not or under the guise of "realistic").
Not to spurn you on - let's go tigers to increase our RPI and any possible slim chance at sneaking into the top 25 and at worst top 30!

Re: Clemson Trivia Question
Honestly, this could be entitled 3 quarters....the 2nd quarter at Clemson and the second half against ark state. We were outgunned against Clemson but the game could have been much closer had it not been for that 2nd qtr blow up. Shoulda, coulda, woulda but I just wish we could get back the second half against a state. Quite frankly, we'd be a 12-1 team with Clemson as our only loss but at beginning of season, I'd have said no way to anyone thinking we'd be 11-2...so I won't look back too much...cept at all those great bowl game pics floating around.
