Early Line.....App-12 vs Arky State

Unread post by Black Saturday » Mon Nov 02, 2015 10:39 am

I find this surprisingly high, but what do I know? A W is A W this week and I'm sure we'll take it any way we can get it.

This stAte team scares the mess out of me. Athletic, well-coached, filled with veterans, and hungry for revenge after we waltzed down and smacked them in the face in Jonesboro last year in front of about 19 fans. I really was hoping this game would be a pick-em or we would be 3 point dogs after the way we played Saturday. I don't want Arky to have any extra motivation. We have to be more ready to play Thursday than we were Saturday. We made it through the classic "Trap game" scenario barely, now we need to take care of business Thursday. I am also expecting a very small but lively crowd at The Rock. I'll be there making as much noise as I possibly can after teaching High school students all day! Go Apps!

Seems a little high but not crazy. Whatever, just win.

Apparently the oddsmakers haven't spent the weekend dissecting our close call vs. Troy and ignoring A-State's vs. Ga. State.

From what we at AState have seen so far, it seems about right.

We've not played a complete game yet, if we do I'd take that bet in a heartbeat (maybe not to win, but to make it close), but we haven't shown that we're capable of 60 minutes of good football.

I'd see the line going down and hope we have more focus and over come the short week and any injuries to play well.

Don't worry about the Vegas lines. Watch the tapes on the team and be sure to be on top when the clock hits zero on Thursday.

We've got a short week to prepare but so do they. We prepare the day that they travel and I think that helps a lot. With that said, I feel like 12 points is a bit generous. They're going to throw everything at us and I see another hard fought tight game.

I love how some fans look at the Vegas line like it's a score predictor. Maybe the opening line...sort of...but I doubt 'ol Vinny in the Nevada desert is breaking down game film of teams in the NC mountains. The underdogs always seem to take it as a sign of disrespect.

Down to -10.5.... from 12 does this show disrespect by the gamblers to a favored 7-1 team? Palaces have been built by gamblers who thought they bet on the sure thing, therefore I'm glad those fools are laying the lumber on the displaced Gumroots of Arky State.
