Really flying high today after that dominating win last night. Our team is REALLY good. Avoid the possible let down next Saturday (shouldn't happen) and take care of business against Ark St and we should be sitting pretty for an 11-1 possible finish..AWESOME!
Just for kicks I took a shot at the team for next year. Tried to go with names, position and next year's class. I know that many of you have a far better feel for our depth and what we have in the wings so please fill in the gaps. Need to work but hey it's Friday and my Apps are awesome.

Yea there are other names that should be included..... but suffice it to say, we will have an outstanding defense and offense again next year. The really big loss to me is replacing Ronald Blair. He will have plenty of opportunity to play at the next level... and probably drafted.

Just For Kicks...But at this moment feels genuine.
Early Prediction
We win at Neyland next season. We will have all summer to prepare. I feel if we played Clemson first week it would have been closer through at least two to three quarters.
Still a lot of football left this season, but I love how we are all excited for what App has achieved.

Might want to post this on the GS board they think ASU is losing all of their players.
Ellison still talking trash even after the game was over. They are coming unglued over there. If you cant pass expect to be blitzed and have 8 or 9 in the box....Cant wait till next years game at the Stink.

Somebody fill in the blanks, clean it up and post it over there. Anybody know if the mountain (Taylor kid) will be in the mix at LT or is he more of a project? Exciting to think that we can again bring back about 10 or so starters on this defense. Running back stable coming back in tact for the most part and young receivers adding to the mix. Many of you guys have a better feel for the roster than I do but if this is close to correct we only have to fill two OL and a DL (granted a big hole). Losing McElfresh will be tough but we must have some weapons in the wing at WR. I like our chances at UT next year as well.

I'll take a shot...
The big concern to me is replacing Blair. Replacing Chapman is a ? also, but that's probably going to be either Collins or Edge-Campbell.
We have other good players leaving, obviously, but I think we have plenty of good options to fill those spots.

When you get your butt kicked like that, not much you can say besides "wait til next year."

If you want the shorthand answer, we return 15/22 starters; 6/11 on offense, 9/11 on defense.

East...one other DE to watch for is Morgan Wilson. Word is his recovery/rehab is well ahead of schedule and this was a recruit that was getting a fair bit of P5 interest before his injury. He gets back to 100% he could be a steal for us and a very good DE. At 6' 4" 250 and another year under S & C before he hits the field he's got the size and ability. Just one more thing to watch.

Has anybody seen Alex Taylor in practice? That size really intrigues me. If he has some good footwork he would be huge (no pun intended) at LT. We will definitely have a good supply of upper class men leadership.

Thanks Moose, good tip. My rule of thumb on WOs is to expect nothing and consider any on-field contribution we get as a pleasant surprise. But at the least, this kid appears to have ideal size, which is something we're still trying to build up at that position.

That crew of linebackers is off the charts good, having all 4 comeback will be huge for the center of the defense.

I think Alex Taylor ends up at RT with Victor Johnson at LT.

Yeah that's mine too normally but from all the study I did and talk I heard on him, if he hadn't gotten the season ending injury in the 3rd game of his senior year, he would have gone P5 somewhere. Va Tech and UVA were all over him his Jr year and I've got three or four others in my notes from Jr year as well. Don't normally get many out of state walk on guys so I've been keeping an ear to the ground concerning his recovery. We'll see.

We lose a lot of WRs but there are some talented guys behind them. It will hurt to lose Blair!

I think early on Alex Taylor was thought to possibly be the back up at RT this year. They said he had a good camp. My other question is at DE the Devin Papenham (sp?) that is huge. He redshirted this year and is 6'6 225. With a year in the strength program he could be larger. Just wondered how he was doing as well as the late signed DE from Florida. I think we have kids to replace Blair, not be as dominate as him immediately but could be in the future.

Next season, we need to bring water purification tabs to toss in eagle/stink creek. That should get their panties in a wad.

Has there been talk of moving Collins to center next year?

i think he played a few snaps at Center last week against ULM when Chapman went out, but Edge-Campbell finished the game out. I'd rather keep Collins at his LG spot because he's been great there his entire career at App and with a new LT next year, his experience could be helpful

Barring anything unforeseen, Edge-Campbell will be the starting center next year. Heard good things about him.
It seems like last week that some of those rising seniors were coming in as freshmen recruits.
