Parking Thursday
I thought that we were able to park anywhere after 3:00 p.m. I have a parking pass for the River Street parking garage and the information from the ticket office says that we are not allowed to park there Thursday as it is for staff and faculty. What is the update for this?
Parking for Academic Day:
The following locations will be reserved for faculty and staff parking all day on Thursday:
· Rivers Street Parking Deck
· Rivers Street Parallel Parking
· Hill Street Lot
· Greenwood Lot (Upper Side; spaces 1-126)
· Library Deck (until 3 p.m.)
· Student Recreation Center (until 3 p.m.)
· Half of the Peacock Lot (formerly Raley Lot - Rivers Street side; spaces 1-150)

Re: Parking Thursday
I have been parking at the Rivers Street deck for a long time. Sure, my donation isn't to the amount of the ones that have parking passes at the stadium but I have been a loyal giver. Now I'm being told I can not park in my space. Should the University pay a pro-rated rebate to each of us that park at the Rivers Street deck? As we all know, in a couple of weeks we will be back in same situation as we are this Thursday unless someone steps up and makes some changes. I know there are other parking lots effected the same way as Rivers Street.

Re: Parking Thursday
If you read down further, I understood it as Rivers street parking deck was open all day to Staff but after 3 yosef club members could park, space permitting with overflow at legends parking lot.

Re: Parking Thursday
Missed that, thanks. I guess I need to be in line at 2:59 to get a parking space if there is one available.

Looks like ECU has a plan for their Thursday night game, classes end at 3:00:
ECU CLASSES
Council recommends 3 p.m. end to classes
The 7 p.m. ECU Pirates vs. Temple University football game is expected to create a significant traffic and operational impact on the university due to the arrival of thousands of Pirate fans at the same time university employees are leaving campus.
Because this is a safety matter, the Chancellor’s Executive Council strongly recommends that all university classes and operations on Main Campus end at 3 p.m. Oct. 22 to reduce the potential safety risks for our students, faculty, staff, visitors and the community.
While it is not mandatory that classes and operations end early, supervisors are encouraged to be flexible in allowing staff to use leave time or a flex schedule to make up for any lost time.
Faculty members are encouraged to use alternate methods, such as out-of-class or online assignments, to make up the time lost in the classroom. Some operations and courses – classes or labs that meet only once a week – may not be able to shut down. These exceptions should be reviewed by department heads and adjusted when feasible.

Safety? what a cop out. If they are concerned about safety then don't sell tickets and just play the game. At least they are not forcing classes to stop.appgrad81 wrote:Looks like ECU has a plan for their Thursday night game, classes end at 3:00:

Re: Parking Thursday
I applaud ECU for thinking ahead. I hope I am wrong, but I see a nightmare in Boone on Thursday. I wish we had done something similar.
All the hand-wringing over missing a class baffles me. Classes were canceled when the chancellor was installed and I don't remember anyone fretting over that. In my opinion, it's a complete non-issue. End classes at 3:00 and make things easy for everyone.

Yosef Club Lots Parking Information:jclement48 wrote:Missed that, thanks. I guess I need to be in line at 2:59 to get a parking space if there is one available.
Yosef Club Donors that park in Stadium, Justice, Peacock (formerly Raley), Duncan, Broyhill Music and Greenwood lots, as well as the Rivers Street Deck, may enter their assigned lots starting at 3 p.m.
Any member that arrives to their space and finds no spaces available on University Drive or in the Rivers Street or Library Parking Decks between 3-5 p.m. are asked to go to the overflow area in the Legends Lot (festival parking) to tailgate. They are welcome to remain in the festival parking area for the evening, or may relocate to their reserved spaces when they become available at 5 p.m. Members with reserved parking are also welcome to tailgate in the Old Watauga High School Lot, which will have “Park & Ride” shuttle service to the East Side drop off at the stadium. Members who go to the old WHS lot can present their Yosef pass and receive complimentary parking.
