Surprised Bobo is still our punt returner and surprised not to see Collins as the backup TE.

Surprised to see a true freshman Vic Johnson at Left Tackle and Jaquil Capel (Jr) as a kick returner and wide receiver. Good for them.... Where's Montez Mcguire (Sr) and Hunter Nunn (So) ?

Four true freshman on the two deep. Hayes, Johnson, Thomas and Rubino.

Small must have had a great offseason to be level with Fernandez. There was a 40-50 lb difference between the two last year. Now only a 5 lb difference.

my take, surprised by all the freshman on the two deep, I thought we were a young team last year, but, we just got younger, not sure if that's a good or bad thing, Capels starting is a real surprise, coaches talked about he is one of the fastest man on the team, I guess he had a great camp, plus they really wanted to get a player on the field who can stretch the field.

Capel is on the 2 deep but not listed as a starter. Listed behind Bobo.

Vic isn't redshirting due to two OL losses this summer.

I am surprised to see Bobo starting at PR and one of the KR, I thought a couple of the burners we redshirted last year would really push for those spots.

I think we'll see a few of those guys this weekend though if we can get up on Howard early.

Looks like JP played well enough to hold off Danny, I know they like what they see from both of them.

opps, sorry about that, still, he had kinda become the forgotten man on that unit, to see him move up, and pretty much guarantee himself significant playing time shows that something changed between him and the coaching staff.

Johnson is on the 2-deep because Painter's departure left us without any other options. It was either true freshman or walk-on.

Coaches have been raving about Capel in the practice reports. I am very surprised at Mcguire's absence also, though.

Also, different post, but I'm a bit surprised there aren't more changes in the return game too. We'll see if that lasts well into the season I guess.

Just to highlight, this is the first time I can remember saying "what about this guy...". I think we are starting to see the benefits of quality depth...future looks bright, especially at WR.

Good point - you could make a pretty good WR depth chart with the guys who aren't on this one:

Mcguire
Adams

Barbour
Hopkins

Letman
Armstrong

Barbour, McGuire and letman I am expecting good things from as well. There's also Dante jones who is supposedp to have excellent route running capabilities.
