According to some ESPN calculation, we're #54 heading into the 2015 season.

Not bad, especially since that doesn't account for schedule. By those rankings, we'd be a solid favorite in every game but Clemson. Of course, I have no idea whether that metric is particularly accurate.

we would be ranked higher if they didn't have our ST's ranked 122
Offense is 30 and Defense is 70

I'm not sure our defense wasn't the stronger unit by year's end last season.

Interesting .... If I am reading this correctly, this puts us 1st in SunBelt with Georgia Southern, Arkansas State, Texas State and Louisiana coming in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th respectively. I could live with that

Beating everyone on the schedule ranked lower than App = Peach Bowl

Not unless the Sun Belt improves by leaps and bounds over last year. Even then it would be far from guaranteed.

11-1 with a close loss to Clemson (with wins over CUSA and Mountain West teams) should put App in consideration for an Access Bowl spot. The Access Bowls in 2015 are the Fiesta and Peach Bowls. Obviously the vast majority of App fans would prefer the Peach, but it would depend on what teams are available in the Top 10.
It's not crazy to think about it.

I fear we may be setting expectations/hopes a little high. If we go to any bowl it would vastly exceed expectations for year two. Winning six games will not get us a bowl game based upon the locations of the SBC bowls, we are going to have to win a minimum of 8 games for a spot.

I'd be happy with a 9-3 type season.
I love our guys but 30th best offense in the country? Wow.

I agree, we have the cart waaayyy before the horse here. There is a load of potential with the 2015 App State squad but to think 11-1 is a likely finish is really optimistic. While the schedule is likely more favorable for us, I don't think teams will sell us short as they may have in 2014.

Yeah I'll just say this - I'd be beyond ecstatic to have the opportunity to bitch about us getting passed over for a NY6 bowl at 11-1 (though I likely wouldn't do so).
Before last season, my hope was that by 2015 we could go 7-5 and make a bowl. That still wouldn't be a bad accomplishment for year 2 in FBS, though like everyone else, my hopes are a bit higher now. I'd be thrilled with 9-3.

Yep, we all hope for a great year and it is possible but let's remember last season when some were saying pre-season we'd be lucky to win 4 games and then they still called for the firing of the coaches ---
