We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.
Most improved ?
Most improved ?
This team has come along way since Liberty. So who or what is most improved, play calling, defense, Lamb, the new linebackers ? For me it's the offense line. This unit has gone from being a liability to being a strength. Lamb has been well protected. The backs have holes, just look at the rushing yardage. We actually made yardage on 3rd and 4th and short. This group has gone from being passive to knocking people around and finishing plays. What do y'all think?

Receiving corps deserve mention too. That includes tight ends and backs.
Give 'em hell!
Re: Most improved ?
Change to a more aggressive defense. I guess we had to mature as players and grow into the scheme. This has given the whole team a boost. We were going to have a solid offense but I agree with you, it took the O-line change to make that really happen.

Seems like the defense with the new LB's is lights out. Stringer and Boggs get my first vote. The OL has to be on that ballot as well. They were mauling stAte at times Saturday. Overall just a ton of improvements with this team.

Boggs has done above and beyond considering he was thrust into the starting role midway through the season.
Malachi has really stepped up lately. He's not the most talented WR, but he makes plays when needed. Montez has also deserves credit. It seems like she. Sheadon was put into the group, it lit a spark for everyone else.

I've wondered if Shaedon's presence has caused the entire WR unit to step it up. I know he may not have been ready when he got here, but man what a talent!

Re: Most improved ?
Looks to me like nearly every phase of our team has improved:
Oline- more agressive, shoving guys around, opening holes.
QB- is only going to get better. Makes good decisions.
RB- Beast. Only needs to hold onto the ball, especially deep in our own end.
Receivers- Whole group making plays. We appear to have some studs in the making.
DLIne- sacks and pressure makes the secondary better
Linebackers- young guys scary good and scary potential
Secondary- should be very appreciative of the front 7 but they are also getting more confidence.
Coaching- Not much more can be said. Great gameplans and play calling. Made some wise decisions with personnel.
Special Teams- have to list them. Will only get better with redshirted talent joining the fray, Spring practice should be best ever. Have to say that this unit has improved in that we made a game winning FG

When it comes to ST all I can say is I commend you. You are a VERY kind person.bigdaddyg wrote:Looks to me like nearly every phase of our team has improved:

Re: Most improved ?
1. Young guys getting older.
2. Opening up the defensive playbook and applying pressure.
3. Cox getting back to 100%
4. Additional months under a legit S&C program
Next step is keeping special teams vanilla, just play smart and concentrate on basics.

Re: Most improved ?
I was trying to be nice but mostly positive with my special teams commment. You have to admit, the bright side for ST's is that, as part of that phase, they made a game winning field goal and a couple since. Admittedly the ST's have been bad and gut wrenching when attempting any kick and when attempting to cover any type of kick (enough said about rugby punts) but we don't need to be negative nellies all the time. Even though the ST glass is less than half full I prefer to go that route rather than to consider it more than half empty. If we go down the list of improvements and ST's are at the bottom I would say we should feel pretty good. I would rather have a squad that needs to fix ST's over lines, QB or receivers. Lots of folks were crying a month ago about how bad our receiving corp was. Not too shabby now and getting better.

Re: Most improved ?
1, I believe S & C takes it for me.
IMHO against South Alabama in person, and GS on the tube we looked small. On the tube with ULM I thought we looked fairly equal in size. Last Saturday against stAteI was I thought to myself when did we get so Big???
OL looked big but specificaly our D lineman seemed huge compared to stAte. Could be success just has them playing bigger?
