Yeah pretty silly huh.
Let's give this coach an atta boy and let this play out over the next two years. Looking forward to the future, there are some special freshman and sophomores on this team. Oline play was outstanding today.
Congrats coaches and players that long ride home should be a good one. Continue working hard during the off week and let's give the home crowd something to cheer about in two weeks.

I have said alot this week about the staff. First, I was not able to see the game so i am going on the states and the game cast on ESPN. Looks like our d stepped up and made it happen. Lots of yards given up and seem like half the Troy roster had a catch. Looks like we caused some TO. Way to go D, and O was on fire. Not much TOP but thats because lots of quick strikes on the ground. This is what we wanted, we IMPROVED, got better played better. APP football!. One is good, two is a trend three is a streak!

We gave up 300yards. And quite a few of those were after the subs were in....

I don't think it's silly to hold a head coach accountable for the performance of a program. College Head Football coaches make a lot of money and have culpability when it comes to the product on the field. I will be the first to say that the team looked much more prepared today and will give credit to the coaching staff for a solid and much needed win. Likewise when things don't go so well I also look to the head coach. Ultimately, he manages the program and his coaches and the buck stops with him. If Satterfield can turn the corner with this program and can string together performances like today on a consistent basis then he deserves an extension. If not, and things go in the other direction then it will be time to cut the losses. We live in a performance based world and Satterfield will be judged on his performance as a head coach.
All in all you have to judge a coach by the body of work not just one win or one loss. As of today Satterfield is 6-13, with losses to the likes of NC A&T, Charleston Southern, and Liberty. Two notable wins have been Georgia Southern last year and Troy this year. However, I think it is entirely reasonable for the fan base to judge a coach based on their body of work and it is reasonable to suggest the coach is let go if not meeting expectations. If the head coach does meet expectations then it is also reasonable to suggest an extension.

That's the point, the body of work will not be known for two more years. This is a process during transition.
The players executed the plan. If we fumble less, hit our kicks, and cover we're 4-3 right now. The team is young, future is bright.
