Mike Greenberg just used ASU in a hypothetical example of a fan accepting a moral victory. In talking about his beloved Jets loss last night to the Pats, he stated that it was the NFL and there are no moral victories. He said something like "If I was at Appalachian State and we lost on a blocked field goal to Alabama maybe that would be a moral victory." Seemed kind of funny to me that he grabbed our name out of the air but its always good to hear ASU mentions on the major networks. And yes, he pronounced it as good as you and I!

Do you think it might be possible for a team like Appalachian to beat an Alabama--or even a Michigan, for example--on a blocked field goal? That could never happen in the real world, could it?

No that would not happen, however, it's possible for us to lose a game to a team like Liberty on a miss field goal.

No that would not happen, however, it's possible for us to lose a game to a team like Liberty on a miss field goal.
That would be a very big upset for a lowly FCS team to go on the road and beat an FBS team--especially one that USED to be pretty good!!!
