Beat Troy thread

Unread post by EastHallApp » Wed Oct 15, 2014 9:37 am

So, I think we can agree the season hasn't gone too well so far. However, there's still half a season to go, which means half a season to get better, adjust to the competition, and position ourselves for a good year in 2015.

We wouldn't be the first team in this league to show some progress after a bad start. ULL was terrible in nonconference play; now they look ready to contend for the league title as expected. Troy was even worse, including a loss to an FCS transitional; now they've pushed ULM hard and blown out NM State.

No time like the present. Let's hope the fellas can get that first FBS win, first Sun Belt win, first road win this week.

Lets all hope that the team turns it around. Troy is certainly a winnable game. Like us they are one of the worst teams in FBS right now according to ESPN folks. If we can just win against the remaining bad teams on our schedule, it will give a lot of us doubters some hope that SS isn't in over his head. I for one hope he proves me wrong. It starts this Saturday, BEAT TROY!

We missed our last good chance at a win last week. Every single team we have played this year, save Campbell, have had one of their best games of the year against us. There is no reason to think that trend won't continue. We are too slow, too small, and too weak right now. That's not coaching, that's talent ill-fitting our current situation. No amount of coaching can overcome that.

We need to get these FCS-caliber players out of here and start getting legitimate FBS talent in there. Hopefully that will start next season, and I am fine not wasting redshirts on this season and starting the clock on grading the coaches next year. Until that does happen though, Bear Bryant couldn't get 2 wins out of this program right now.

No offense, but I was hoping for this to be a pure rah-rah, positive mojo thread. Plenty of other ones available to discuss the state of the team and program.

Like de song say, "I'll be there"! I would kick myself if I missed App's first SBC win. It's time for the light to come on for this team.

Well kicking the ball when everyone knew we couldn't has costs us two wins so far.......I lay that on one person......whomever decided to trot out the kickers both times. Dont think it was the players.

I wish I was a bandwagon fan, I have put a lot of blood, sweat, and money into our program......but I'm not gonna sit back and hope for the best, I am going to actively support our team by lobbying for a better person to lead them.

I say we fire the entire coaching staff and have the membership of Yosef's Cabin coach as a group. Collectively, we prove weekly that have all the answers.

Bentley had made his prior 2 FG attempts from farther out than the one he missed

And absolutely shanked a PAT. I ok with a FG attempt I am not ok playing for the FG attempt considering all of our woes and yes in that game with a punter who had already missed a PAT and we put up 630 yards.
