Color anaylst

Someone asked about Steve Brown the other week when Lanny Ford was doing color but I don't remember the answer beyond someone mentioning a sick family member, maybe Steve's mother. And it seems someone mentioned it was serious at that. The other week I think someone mentioned Steve being at a wedding in the Bahamas.

In the Campbell program book (pg 62) it mentioned Steve and then for Lanny "serves as the color analyst for selected games." The wedding would be planned far enough ahead that missing the game for this is not big deal and understandable. If I am correct about the sick family member especially one as close as a parent then certainly don't be at the game. But the program made some of these missed games seem a bit more is going on. Of course the program does not mention which games each are covering for color analyst and no reason why one or the other is used any particular game.

I like Steve - he is honest in his comments in my view. I like Lanny as well, so no negative thoughts about Lanny.

I was just wondering if this move was a way to get ESPN 730 to come on board for App coverage or if Steve wanted to step away a bit this year and that opened the mic up for Lanny or Steve knew some things were coming up in his life and he initiated this himself something else entirely.

Steve did color from 1992-1997 and then came back in 2004. I am not sure what was the reason he left in 1997. Family I am guessing or work and having time to travel.
