Satterfield

Unread post by 3timeapps » Sat Oct 11, 2014 8:38 pm

satterfield was a great offense coordinator because he rode the coat tail of huge talent. ( Edwards, Richardson, Ect). Big time football is about winning and putting people in the seats which I don't see either happening soon.

I did not like seeing Moore go. However with him gone I was hopping for Satterfield. With the way we look right now I can admit that I was wrong. We should have gone after someone with experience and I think now we should start looking for that.

I was one of Satts loudest and adamant support for the job. I WAS WRONG. Luckily I hated the Woody hire and I WAS RIGHT on that one. 3-4 is a terrible fit with our personnel and he was an average SOCON D coordinator with an option offense to help pad his stats. I wish I had those backward. Would have preferred to been right on Satt and wrong about Woody.

getting rid of Moore was the absolute right decision, actually waited 1 year too long, but I will admit I was a big fan of hiring both SS and Woody...sadly, its looking like I was wrong, I don't think you can measure his success/failures at this time on win/loses, but there can be no denying that the growth we were hoping for with this staff just isn't happening, this team looks no more prepared than under Moore. I have had enough of this, first Moore took the program to new lows, now it looks like SS doesn't have the ability to raise to program to the level we expect...absolutely the low point of the program.

Mack Brown isn't really doing anything.

I just want to hear an interview with coach Satt where he is pissed. I want him to say that this is unacceptable and that every coach on that team had better get their act in gear……I do not want him to keep saying we have to "work on the basics"….I want him to say that if our team does not perform to the level of their talent the coaches will be held responsible. I work in a results-oriented field and I can say with certainty that my boss would have fired me or someone by now.

He has indirectly. He called out his kicker with the comments about getting the ball over the line and called out the defense in the post game. I heard the message, I bet Woody and company did as well.

I think the time has come for Satterfield to stop with the excuses for under performance. At the end of the day the buck stops with him.

What I saw today is an offense with a tremendous amount of potential and once we get our FBS level talent across the 2 deep we will be good. What I continue to see in the Defense is inexcusable and disappointing. I don't know if we don't have enough FBS talent or if it is our scheme, but I do believe we should have been able keep a mid level FCS team at bay. We did not even come close to stopping this offense or any other offense this year (obvious exception Campbell). I say the remainder of this season defines our program under Satterfield, who I believe can lead this team. I do not believe this 3-4 defense under Woody can improve as we have not done so in 2 years. I watched players like Fernandez go against 2-3 blockers last year and not move, where this year he is being handled one-on-one easily at time. Not trying to seek him out but something is not right and Satt has to make a career decision NOW!!!
