Moore said. “ It was their preparation and our lack of it. We had a lot of missed assignments and confusion.”

Ya Think!!!

Jackson said. “It’s time to prepare for a new opponent, and it’s time to keep moving through this conference race.

Lets hope you move through a lot better than last week.

“Honestly, those guys hit us in the mouth,” safety Troy Sanders said. “We were never really ready, to tell you the truth. We didn’t come out there with any energy. We came out flat and The Citadel came out there with more energy from the first snap. ”

Why were we never really ready? Youth? Why no energy? Why flat?

There has been multiple games in recent past where we were not ready!

"This is awful to say, but it really wasn’t a lack of effort. I think we played pretty hard. We just made a lot of mistakes."--Jerry Moore

Anybody besides me find these statements contradictory?

Extremely contradictory. I was thinking the same thing when I saw it on Appfan.

Why no comments from SS or DJ?

SS and DJ owe the players and the fans an apology.

Neither the defense nor the offense was prepared.

Defense was abused the whole day and offense didn't move the ball until Citadel started subbing in 2nd stringers.

I'm willing to give SS a pass, but I have seen far too many of these defensive breakdowns to suit me.

The worst part in my opinion, was ZERO half time adjustments, Citadel came right back out and just continued their attack.

It's been like 30 years since I played football, but the one thing I know about the T.O. is you have to pick something to try and take away and it doesn't seem like we had a clue what that needed to be.

I don't think they're contradictory. A player can play "pretty hard" and make an effort but if there's no energy then it won't be to much avail. And even if the statements do seem contradictory they come from 2 different people with 2 differenct perspectives. Coaches are darned if they do and darned if they don't when commenting on games lke this. Coach Moore is trying to be as positive as he can be with his comments and many will find fault in that but if he was as honest as many want him to be them others would find fault in that. It's hard for me to criticize a coach for using "coachspeak".

LOL! It is mid week and that is the first time I have been able to laugh again about anything football related since the baby-blue beat down.

I had hoped that we had hired enough new coaches to not run into this again.
Is football knowledge and the ability to adjust on the run a dead science in Boone?

Probably what we get for keeping a coach on that has not shown any or many positive attributes the last few years. Hope they give him a raise.
