We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Congrats

What's that? The old Furman logic -- "yeah, they kicked our butt, but we are so smart....?"

Give it a rest. ASU got a butt whippin' in a football game. Nothing else is relevant with regard to the game.

If this staff is not putting the best on the field every game and expecting to win, they need to be shown the door. So much for a winning tradition.

Troy has also used a "win now" recruiting focus. It hasn't worked so well for them.

The whole, build for the future thing is just digging a hole that you have to get out of. Play every game in every season to win or go coach at another school that never wants to win.

I agree with you. We have a winning culture, or had a winning culture, and now we are being told that we have to accept losing in order to be better in the future. That logic just isn't sound. We either expect to win or we don't. I don't like the direction we're heading.

Totally agree. Have seen time after time of them talking about building for the future, but if you do not put your best players on the field now there may well not be much of a future. Recruits do not want to go to a certain school thinking they will never be on a winning team. Can see red shirting someone that cannot grasp the things they need to know to play, but not just because they do not know everything perfectly. Stockpiling does no good when you, because of your winning, can recruit better players the next year.

I bet that if I went to a message board of a team that resides east of us in a certain two word town it would look the same. I understand the frustration but you all sound like the entitled Tar Holes that you all despise. Really?

I'm not entitled to anything except an opinion. I have been a competitive athlete all my life. I never once set foot on a field or a court thinking to myself, "We are young and we're going to get better, so I'll be okay if we lose this game." I couldn't do it as a player and I can't do it as a fan. If that somehow makes me less of a fan in your eyes, then I'll just have to live with that. There is a lot of potential on this team and I see it as well as anyone, but I think it's a really slippery slope to take a program that is built on winning and saying it's okay if we lose for a few years beause we'll be better later.

I hope we aren't deluding ourselves into thinking that, because at this point that's about all that we have. I also realize that we are just a couple of converted opportunities from having a very different perspective at this point in the season. I'm willing to be patient but I do want to see us eradicate the same mistakes we seem to make game after game (particularly, the false starts in the red zone).

I do enthusiastically look forward to our first SBC home game and hope that we will see the progression that so many anticipate taking place. A couple of wins could do wonders for our guys at this point.

And talk about insult to injury,

While the Stink was taking our lunch money in front of a national audience, the ESPNU announcers were previewing the Florida State-NC State game. One commented that while NC State had a good record, they hadn't really played anybody. I guess we can say, "Nobody" can beat us.

You are certainly entitled to you opinion. If you think that we look bad, and you want to state it, fine. I did not question your fandom. But as a competitive athlete you of all people should be able to see the forest for the trees. We are young. We have very few upperclassmen talented enough to step on the field at this level and compete. The current coaching staff inherited a bad football team. Sure it had not hit rock bottom when they took over but it was on a steady decline for a couple of years. I am sure that coaches like Ss, Ivey, and Cardwell who wore the black and gold are not happy with the product but they are doing a bunch of good things with what they have. But when I see posts like "we need to win now" and "play the best player that gives us a chance to win now" are laughable when you look at how many of our juniors and seniors are not replaceable with younger talent. Kendall Lamm is our best upperclassmen on the team and is probably the only one that could play at a P5 school. Many of you wanted Lamb in ahead of Bryant because he gives us the best chance to win. Well he is in and he looked like a freshmen last night. He did not play well but it was still better than the upperclassmen that he beat out. That should tell you something about what we have.

The thing that bothers me about the false starts is the fact that our offensive line has been toughted as a very experienced group. Is there anyone person committing the majority of these mistakes?
