First home game of the season. It appears, showers and storms are going to be the proverbial fly in the ointment for tailgating and the game. As of this post, I'd expect a good chance for scattered showers and storms, with kick off temps in the mid 70s. Hoping we catch a break with the cold front, West, stalling far enough West, that could allow for a less soggy sort of scenario.
Better grasp of it all later Thursday.

Rain I can handle. Thunderstorms? No, we don't need to be Idaho-Florida part 2. Give Idaho credit though as they still pocketed $975,000.00 AND the game was officially declared a no-contest. Hell, they beat ULM this week and they are in first place.

***FRIDAY UPDATE***
Well, we'll see just how "True Grit" the diehard Mountaineer fans are this weekend. Wish I could tell you I had better news for the forecast, but I don't.
Wrap your brains, and settle your Mountaineer souls, around a good likelihood of showers and storms. Bring the rain gear, the secret sauce, and take part in our home opener at the FBS level. Football watching ain't pretty at times, this will probably be one of those weather times. But, I think, worth it given the history being made this Saturday.
NOON: Mid 70s with the chance for scattered showers and storms
KICKOFF: Mid to upper 70s with showers and storms likely in the region.
End of Game: Low 70s showers and storms remain likely.
Please keep in mind, if lightning is active, clear the stands and seek shelter out of possible harms way.
We are one of just a few stadiums, in the nation, with our own weather monitoring and lightning alert system. I suspect that will be put to the test this Saturday.

***GAME DAY****
NO major changes to the forecast. Scattered showers and storms appear likely today and this evening. I'm just hoping the geographic region the cells cover, won't be KBS. Alas, if you hear that rumble of thunder (or Steve White ask's you to - PA Guy) time to clear the stands and seek shelter.
Be safe and enjoy!
