its two days old but this is the story they are currently running on the front of ESPN "Reliving a Michigan Nightmare" is the front page title. 3:16pm.
"U-M's Greg Mathews: I had never heard of them. Even watching their film, it was really grainy and bad quality. I felt like I was watching a high school highlight tape or something. I personally wasn't worried or concerned about the game."
"ASU's Corey Lynch: The sad part to me is I don't know if I'll ever go back to Appalachian State. I'm embarrassed to go back there because they fired Coach Moore after all that happened."

I'm just guessing he knows a little more about it than anyone on this here and just a little more about what made those teams great.

Sure, but that doesn't have anything to do with how JM's dismissal was handled. It was FUBAR on both sides.

He knows Moore's version.

He knows Moore's version. Disappointed in his comments given another one of those coaches is the currnt head coach. Time to get behind Coach Satt.

Come on Man --- Corey surely had a special relationship with Coach Moore - he spent 5 very formidable years of his life under Coach Moore's guidance. He earned the right to give his opinion!!! - And I'm not saying I agree with Corey's opinion nor where he stated it ---

I'm wasn't going to say anything but I'm sure he knows a little of everyone's version. I'm sure he has a much first hand knowledge as you got first, second, third, etc.
It was his quote, his opinion...why don't we leave it at that instead of trying to discredit him also.

How did he dis Coach Satt, coach Satt didn't fire Moore did he? I don't see it has anything to do with Satt.

I have no doubt Corey believes Moore's version.

I am disappointed that Corey aired the dirty linens publically and I have let him know that in a private fashion. Working in the realm of professional athletics I have learned than only a small percentage of what happens in personnel matters is known. To speak publically about this is poor form and creates an even deeper divide than what already exists.

It is Corey's opinion, but I disagree with it vehemently.
The quote took another piece on the Michigan game that should make App fans happy and with that one quote, opened a sore wound at the worst possible time.
Former players generally have more loyalty toward their coaches than the school. Add on Jerry's grandfather figure persona and you have former players who would follow Jerry to Al Qaida if he went there.
A lot of this would end if Jerry would make a public statement supporting Satterfield. He's had chances to, but hasn't.

Nothing wrong with Lynch's opinion, Moore is someone he really admires and respects, and he is going to defend his coach. If he doesn't want to have anything to do with the school that's his prerogative, it's sad, but his right.

By all means, if you're that embarrassed, then don't come back.

Anyways...
Even if we don't win tomorrow, this is great publicity for Appalachian State. We're on national TV. People will be seeing shots of our campus throughout the day on ESPN2. It's a win-win for us. We get $1 million, either way, we get free publicity, and if we win, the world may implode. It's a lose-lose for Michigan. If they win, it'll be a "Meh, no surprise there" situation for most, and they still owe us $1 million.

Always respected Corey, heard him speak many times. This is neither the time nor the place to air your Grievances. If that is his attitude now and he chooses this platform for his personal temper tantrum then stay the hell away.

That is the most dumbass statement I have read on this board - These are the people who murdered thousands of our people - THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR SUCH A STUPID, INSENSITIVE, ASSININE STATEMENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Settle down. His point was that he was very devoted to Coach Moore and would likely do almost anything for him. I understand his loyalty but it was something that didn't need to be said at this point and time. He certainly has a right to his opinion, no one disputes that, but he essentially has dissed the rest of us including current coaches and players.
