Scott Satterfield - HFC/playcaller
Nate Woody - Defensive Coordinator
Dwayne Ledford - Co-Offensive Coordinator (running game)/Offensive Line Coach
Frank Ponce - Co-Offensive Coordinator (passing game)/QB Coach
Bryan Brown - Cornerbacks Coach
Chris Foster - Running Backs Coach
Mark Ivey - Outside Linebackers/Special Teams Coach
Dale Jones - Defensive Line Coach
Scot Sloan - Recruiting Coordinator/Secondary Coach
Justin Stepp - Wide Receivers Coach
Kareem Young - Strength and Conditioning Coach

So if this is coming out weeks before the season is over, it seems some decisions have already been made.

Who's contract is up at the end of this year?

I could see Dale Jones being shown the door.

The staff changes that would make sense to me would be Dale and Kareem. Once Dale was demoted, it seems like it is only a matter of time before someone else would come in - probably due to salary reasons. So much has been talked about the S&C program that this is probably the area where we splurge a bit financially and hire someone with previous experience running a S&C program at a FBS school with a proven track record of success.

Outside of that - it's not clear to me who else gets moved?

I gotta think we'll be seeing a change at OL coach. I honestly don't know if our coach is good at it or not, I just know it has been a weak spot the last few years.

I expect to see changes with our O Line & S&C coach more than likely. I could also see them showing Dale Jones the door as well. Just my .02 and I think these changes would really help with the future of the program.

I expect recruiting to play a big role in that decision as well. If you're a position coach and haven't got a verbal or two I'd be concerned in the coming weeks.

That article sure didn't give you much information! I expect the next 4 games will determine a lot about the changes that take place. The situation with recruits will be key too.

When he took over we all can agree that was the weak unit on the team, it was going to take more than a year to get that unit playing the way we expect, and probably a couple of recruiting classes.

Agreed. Plus, I doubt his salary is all that great. I would think, as others have said, Jones and Young are the most likely.

I could see a change to a single OC instead of dividing the duties between Ledford and Ponce.

There may be changes, and it would be justified but my reading of that article is that the author is just guessing based on our current record and prior history. I say this because it was a single sentence with no elaboration. Any outsider could look at our current situation and say that changes are coming.

This is Ledford's second season which is more than enough time to see how players respond to him and if he is motivating them. Scott has only been involved in 2 of the hires and inherited 2 (Jones & Sloan) with multiple year contracts he had to live with, since CC wouldn't come up with the $'s to buy out their contracts. Those expire after the season. I don't see how Jones or Ledford can be retained. Although Sloan has proven to be an effective recruiter his position players have not performed well and is not working for the guy who hired him. Makes you wonder if Woody has someone else in mind.

under normal circumstances I would agree that 2 years is enough to evaluate a coach, but this is not a typical situation, before Ledford came, we had basically 3 years of piss poor recruiting and an OL coach who couldn't get along with the players, or the coaching staff, and ran off some pretty good talent, and really didn't develop the talent we had. What I want to see from the remaining 4 games is what we saw in the GS game, if we get that kind of effort and execution from the OL, Ill be satisfied that Ledford is starting to get the results, and building a solid foundation.

Funny because I'm not sold on Woody. I'm in no way advocating he be let go. But I have concerns that his philosophy may not be a recipe for success in the Sun Belt. If we had stayed in the SoCon I would feel more comfortable.

Well here is a guy that we swung and missed on during that time. Kiper is the helmet head Mel Kiper, Jr.

If you watched Furman hang around with LSU for a while Saturday, you should have seen Dozier. He plays tackle for the Paladins, but I think he'll end up at guard when he's in the NFL. What I see from Dozier is a player who is really aggressive, and is able to generate a ton of power as a run-blocker (another reason he will succeed at guard).

Dozier is a former wrestler, and is really good at creating leverage. He's also athletic enough to consistently get to the second level. I have him at 6-3 and about 303 pounds, and he looks like an athlete. I think he'll be the first non-FBS offensive lineman drafted and I'd put him at about Round 4 if the draft were tomorrow. Again, I think he ends up inside.

That's the same thing I was told. Who really knows but it would not be the first recruit we've lost because we didn't have the program they wanted but we've also gotten several for the same reasons. Cuts both ways.

App Physics and Astronomy has a partnership with Auburn and I think I read NC State now and I was thinking Clemson as well. Auburn has been around since I was there late 80s early 90s. I think the others are more recent.
